With this lovely summer weather, there really is no excuse not to be keeping fit and active over the summer months! The warmer and longer days make it easier for you get out and enjoy lots of different, fun activities so your summer exercise does not have to be boring at all! Here are a few tips to help you have a more active summer.

Choose An Activity You Used to Love

If you are looking for a fun way to exercise this summer, why not go back to doing something that you used to love? For many of us, exercise and sports are the first things that we give up when life becomes too busy and so this is the perfect opportunity to go back to doing what you loved! What’s great about this too is that it hopefully won’t even feel like exercising and instead you will simply be picking up an old hobby.

Find Something That Doesn’t Feel Like Exercise

Carrying on from our last point, it is important that you choose something that does not feel like exercise to begin with. This is the key to being motivated not just throughout summer but also for the rest of the year too. Some great activities that won’t feel as though you are really exercising include horse riding, dancing and biking.

Take Advantage of a Local Lake

If you have a lake near to where you live then you are in luck, as this is the perfect opportunity for you to make use of it in this weather to try out a wide range of different and exciting activities. As the weather warms up, why not try swimming in the lake or go kayaking? Pedal kayaking is a great form of exercise that you can enjoy without feeling like you are having to put in lots of effort, plus being out on the open water is the perfect way to de-stress. Ditch the Car

When the weather is this fantastic, there really is no need to be driving everywhere in your car. Why not instead try walking or cycling to work? You’ll probably find that this fresh morning air and lack of road rage is the perfect, calming way to set you up for the day and will get your day off to the best possible start. This is also a good idea for those who don’t feel they have enough hours in the day to actually go to a gym.

Exercise with Friends

One of the best things about exercising during the summer months is that it is much easier to convince your friends to join in too! Try and find an activity that you all really love such as Zumba or a spin class. This ensures that you are all held accountable and it also gives you the perfect excuse to catch up on all of each other’s latest news.
