After my weigh in last week and the gain I had, I was very much determined to have a decent loss this week as I was so annoyed that I still hadn’t lost my Christmas weight and felt like I was going backward. This week was the first in goodness knows how long – probably since last year – that I have been on plan AND within my syns for the whole week. Read more
After my pleasing weigh in last week I went away from group feeling confident about the week ahead. I had no plans to put me off track and I was determined to lose that one more pound to get me back to my pre-Christmas weight. I was doing really well and completely on top of things until stress just got to me one evening, and I delved into the biscuit tin… Oops. I managed to stop myself after 4 or 5 (!) and though they tasted good at the time, I regretted it immediately afterwards. I wiped the slate clean though and was straight back on it the next morning and completely on plan for the rest of the week again. Read more
After my weigh in last week and being rather disappointed with myself, I was determined I was going to go for it this week as I am desperate to get back to that pre-Christmas weight. I “only” gained 6lb over Christmas and New Year yet here I am, the beginning of February and still I haven’t lost it all! I think I just hadn’t been able to get back into the zone after the festive excesses, but now we have a holiday booked it has given me something to aim for to get to target.
I had been pretty much on plan all week; we did go out for dinner on Thursday a couple of days after weigh in, but I went for a healthy(ish) option of a mixed grill – obviously there would have been the most syns in sausages but I did go for a jacket potato instead of chips, which is the frame of mind I had wanted to be back in. And while everybody else had dessert, I sat and watched them and was actually okay as I was thinking more about the number on the scales the next week!

After having a pretty good weigh in last week I was determined to try and get that other 3lb off this week in order to get back to my pre Christmas weight. It doesn’t seem so hard in the grand scheme of things, does it? I was actually doing okay for the couple of days after weigh in, then I hit rock bottom emotionally and ate all kinds of junk. Just some of it being a Chinese takeout, half a layer of a box of Thorntons chocolates, and half a bag of sharing M&M’s – yes, that bad. It was those M&M’s on Saturday night that made me realise that I was actually just sabotaging myself and I wouldn’t be getting anywhere if I carried on like that, so I decided I needed to do some damage limitation.
From Sunday morning until weigh in on Tuesday evening, I did EESP to try and pull myself back a bit and get my head back in it. I do like the SP plan for a boost (and for the fact that I can have two healthy extra b choices) but boy do I miss my yogurts and bananas, which I usually eat every day!

So after my last couple of weigh ins I was really disappointed with myself as I was just so out of the zone and I knew I absolutely needed to get back on track. Last week was okay and I was mainly on it, but my head just wasn’t completely back in the game as I had a Subway breakfast sub on Saturday and I have had the odd few biscuits here & there (damn those favourite custard creams! Unfortunately there aren’t any biscuits I don’t like…). I had been a lot better than the couple of weeks over Christmas though when I gained almost half a stone.
Brushing that aside, I finally had another non scale victory when I hit the sales and bought a pair of jeans, a dress, a shirt, a pair of pyjamas, and a coat, all in a size 12! I haven’t been a size 12 for around ten years – close to it, but not quite – but now I can! So it just goes to show that’s it’s not always about the number on the scales. I haven’t measured myself for at least six months either so I really need to do that, to see how many inches I have dropped over the last year.
One more thing I wanted to share, it’s just passed my one year anniversary since I first joined and I am so so happy that I plucked up the courage to go to that first meeting, as Slimming World has truly changed my life forever.
#transformationtuesday So I got my #SlimmingWorld joining date wrong last week and it’s actually a year today that I joined, but anyway… Like many others, I have kept my ‘fat’ jeans and I decided to try them on as I haven’t since I started SW. These are jeans I was wearing way before pre babies and I lost some weight on my own before that (3.5st, but gained 2.5st back with pregnancies), but prior to starting #sw I wasn’t far off being back in them. These are a size 20 and I was an 18 when I joined. It has been a long journey with many obstacles along the way, but I am finally heading to where I want to be. I am truly astonished looking at these photos and I can’t believe the one on the left is me, I never want to go back there 😳 #slimmingworlduk #sw #swuk #swfamily #swfriends #swmafia #swsupport #weightloss #weightlossjourney
#breakfast today, oaty (HEB) pancakes made with toffee fat free greek style yog (0.5 syn), with raspberries and 1 syn of @sweetfreedomuk choc shot. Beaut! 😍😋👍 #slimmingworld #slimmingworlduk #sw #swuk #swfamily #swfriends #swmafia #swsupport #swfood #lowsyn #weightloss #weightlossjourney #food #instafood #foodporn
So this week I went to weigh in desperately hoping for a loss. As I said, I had still been a bit off plan but not as much as over Christmas & New Year so even if it was a gain again, it shouldn’t have been as big as the last couple of weeks. I was quite relieved when I stepped on the scales to see a 1lb loss – only another 5lb until pre-Christmas weight…
My stats for this week (week 48):
- starting weight – 13st 4.5lb
- previous weight – 10st 8lb
- current weight – 10st 7lb
- loss this week – 1lb
- loss so far – 2st 11.5lb
- Club 10 target weight – 11st 13.5lb
- final target weight – 9st 7lb
