Slimming World weigh in #45, #46, and #47 – the one with Christmas & New Year…

I thought I had posted an update for weigh in #45 – i.e. my pre-Christmas-hoping-to-lose-enough-to-stay-above-3-stone-loss-update – but it seems not! Well I can’t quite remember that far back anyway, though I will give the stats update at the end as usual. I must have been pretty good though as I had a 2lb loss giving me 2.5lb to play with, to stay above 3st loss.

After my pre-Christmas weigh in I wasn’t actually too bad, then starting on Christmas Eve it just all went out the window. I’m not going to beat around the bush, I was an absolute pig. Simples. I did say it was just going to be Christmas Day off plan, but that didn’t quite go to plan… I knew I was going to have a gain after Christmas and I sure as heck did, a 3lb gain! To be honest though, I was expecting it to be much worse so I was pretty pleased with that, being my first Christmas on Slimming World.

After that gain, I said to myself – and everyone else – that I was going to be back on it, with the exception of New Year’s Eve when we had a booze & nibbles night planned. Well, let’s just say that didn’t go to plan either and I was a pig the whole week, again. I was really disappointed with myself too, especially when the scales showed a gain of another 3lb. I hadn’t actually been as bad as the previous week so I was a little disappointed, but I only had myself to blame. Line drawn, and back on plan was the best decision.

I did have some meals on plan though, so I wasn’t a total lost cause!

                Slimming World weigh in #42 – the one where I’m almost there…

                Once again I never managed to write an update last week, though in the last one I did write, I said I felt like I was back in the game. Well. Until last week that was. When I had a monumental gain of 2lb! I know it’s not a lot really, but I was quite annoyed with myself that I was doing so well again and I sabotaged myself that week by eating maybe a few more naughty things than I should have.

                I went away from group that night with my line drawn, my positive head screwed on, and I was more than determined to see a loss this week. That determined that everyone in my group was shocked that we had a chippy tea last Friday and I weighed my chips and removed the batter from my fish! LOL! As I still had been even with gaining, I wrote everything down and for the first time in a while, I was actually under my syns every day so I was positive I was going to see a loss this week.

                As I said above, this week I went to weigh in positively hoping for a loss. I was even hoping that I might just manage to grab my 3 stone award. Saying that, I was still quite nervous when I stepped on the scales, but I was absolutely over the moon to see a loss of 3lb! So I didn’t quite make my 3 stone, but there’s always next week!

                Slimming World weigh in #40 – the one where I’m back in the game…

                Once again, it’s been a few weeks since I posted my last update. Since then, I’ve been sticking to writing everything down – even if I know it’s over my syns, as I’ve wanted to be completely accountable to myself. I have had a few occasions when I have been quite naughty with snacking but apart from that I have been pretty much on plan. This might have been helped by the fact that I sat down with my magazines and recipes I have saved, and wrote down a whole month of evening meals in order to make meal planning a little easier! It has meant that I’ve kept on plan throughout the day as I already know what I will be eating later on with regards to using my healthy extras and syns.

                After my weeks of maintaining, I think I just finally had an epiphany that I was letting myself down, and only I could get myself back into it if I wanted to get my 3 stone award by Christmas. It will be the first Christmas in years that I have actually felt happy with myself. I can now see my final goal ahead of me; it’s been a long road, but I will get there.

                On my recent weigh in I was actually quite nervous as I had been eating Hotel Chocolat all week (of which I will have a review coming soon – not so Slimming World I know!) and in all honesty I was expecting a gain. So when I stepped on the scales and saw a loss of 2.5lb I was utterly shocked and may have squealed slightly – it means I am only 1.5lb away from my Christmas goal already!

                              Slimming World weigh in #37 – the one with two in one…

                              Last week I never got around to posting my weigh in update, so I’ll add it on to the bottom of this one like I’ve done previously. So how have I been doing? Well, I’ve been more on plan in the last couple of weeks than I have in the last couple of months but snacking on not so good things is still a minor problem. I’ve been avoiding buying biscuits for everyone else – if they’re not in the house, I can’t eat them, and neither can they, but tough! I also stocked up on fruit again for snacking instead of the chocolate & biscuits and it did help somewhat.

                              I have started writing down my food again too so I knew exactly what I was eating and so I wasn’t tempted to just pig out when I knew I was nearing my maximum syn intake. I also stuck the diary sheet to the fridge so I was only tempted by fruit when I entered the door of doom!

                              These minor changes seem to have helped me get more back on track though as I have lost weight in my last two weigh ins, rather than maintained like I have been doing.

                              The evening before weigh in we were actually out for a 3 course review meal so I was expecting a gain or at least a maintain. Bearing that in mind, I was happy with my loss of 0.5lb when I stepped on the scales! Also in Image Therapy this week we were given little heart tags where we had to write what our SW Christmas present to ourselves was. I have been saying that I would love to be at target by Christmas, but I decided that actually I was putting too much pressure on myself considering my rate of weight loss, so instead I have gone for getting to 3 stone loss which is only 5lb away – fingers crossed!

                              Slimming World weigh in #35 – the one where my butt gets kicked

                              You may I have noticed I have been absent from blog weigh ins again for the last few weeks. There are reasons for this which I will update on in another blog post soon, but now I am finally getting back into the swing of things – blog wise anyway – I thought I better post my latest one!

                              The last few weeks have been difficult in all honesty, with some big life changes happening and I have not been totally on plan. We’ve had meals out, takeaways, and I’ve been snacking on biscuits and chocolates. I have really tried to keep on plan everywhere else though as I didn’t want to throw all of my hard work away. I had become comfortable in this new eating routine though and after this latest weigh in I knew I just needed a big kick up the butt to get right on back on it; I think I had just lost motivation a bit.

                              I don’t have many on plan food photos since my last update but here are some of them:





                              Since that last update I have only lost 1lb as I have maintained for the last two weeks. That is 1lb in 4 or 5 weeks. I know I can do so much more than that, and I want that target by Christmas! I have also put that up by 1lb, so it is dead on 9 and a half stone now, though I may change it again once I get there; I’m just going to see how I feel. Since weigh in – other than my birthday Chinese takeaway afterwards (yes I still went to weigh in on my birthday evening!) – I have been 100% back on plan, and I’m going to try my damn hardest to keep to it now!

                              Here’s hoping for a much needed loss next week! (Though there’s one positive, at least I know I will probably be able to maintain once I get to target!).
