Meal Planning Monday – 4th August

Last week I managed to stick to the meal plan for 6 out 7 days (or 5 out of 6 if you don’t count Saturday). Only Thursday didn’t go to plan as J & I fell asleep before tea time and hubby didn’t wake us up. Then when I did wake up at 7 pm, I tried to wake J for some tea but he just moaned so we put him to bed and he didn’t wake until morning! So hubby & I had a cheeky takeaway, oops…

Meal plan for w/c 4th August:

Monday – Pesto, tomato, mozzarella & spinach puff pastry tart with cous cous

Tuesday – Cauliflower cheese with homemade chicken escalopes

Wednesday – Spaghetti bolognese

Thursday – Butternut squash risotto

Friday – Peppered mackerel with new potatoes & green beans

Saturday – Steak & homemade chips

Sunday – Slow cooked lemon & garlic chicken with veg

Meal Planning Monday – 28th July

We had a good week last week and stuck to the meal plan! I’ve noticed every week is looking quite similar at the minute, so from next week I’m going to be getting my cookbooks out and being a bit more adventurous. They are a bit ‘samey’ at the minute as little man is currently going through a fussy toddler phase, so if he doesn’t eat what we give him it’s either nothing, or toast!

Meal plan for w/c 28th July:

Monday – Vegetable stir fry (I ordered a stir fry box for our fruit & veg delivery last week so had lots of lovely veg to use)

Tuesday – Burgers with sweet potato wedges

Wednesday – Chicken tikka masala (using a meal kit from one of my foodie penpals)

Thursday – Jacket potatoes with various fillings (it’s jacket potato night on a Thursday as it’s the day before weigh in – sure I can find something else to suit though!)

Friday – Fish Friday! Cod with homemade chunky chips

Saturday – Out for our monthly visit to my Mum’s

Sunday – Sausage, mash, & onion gravy

Meal Planning Monday – 21st July

Although I haven’t stuck to my meal plan every week so far, I’m surprised that I’ve actually managed to keep going for this long. Any other time I’ve tried, it’s only lasted a week! I am finding it so much easier though with regards to wastage and time for making meals, as I know the evening before what we are going to have so I’m not rooting around looking for something the next day, and any leftovers hubby usually takes to work for his lunch. Last week I managed to stick to plan other than Sunday when we went to my father-in-law’s and had another BBQ (oops!).

Meal plan for w/c 21st July:

Monday – Chicken & vegetable stir fry (basically chuck in whatever veg needs using)

Tuesday – Creamy courgette & bacon pasta

Wednesday – Lamb rogan josh (using a meal kit from one of my foodie penpals)

Thursday – Jacket potatoes with various fillings

Friday – Fish Friday! (Cod this week – hubby’s choice)

Saturday – Pizzas (CYO – Create Your Own)

Sunday – Roast dinner & all the trimmings (not sure what yet, depends what’s on offer at the weekend. Probably a joint of meat slow cooked)

Meal Planning Monday – 14th July

So last week’s meal plan didn’t quite go to plan. On Monday we went for an impromptu meal out so we had Monday’s on Tuesday as the potatoes needed using, so the burgers are on this week’s. On Saturday I didn’t have anything as I didn’t feel well but J still had his (hubby had a microwave burger, yuk!).

Here is my meal plan for w/c 14th July:

Monday – Ham salad using the salad from our weekly fruit & veg box

Tuesday – Veggie sausage rolls, homemade chips, and beans

Wednesday – Spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread

Thursday – Jacket potatoes with various fillings

Friday – We’re going to the VIP opening of The Summer Adventure at Stockeld Park this afternoon/evening so it will be BBQ!

Saturday – Homemade lamb & feta burgers with homemade potato wedges

Sunday – Roast dinner & all the trimmings (not sure what yet, depends what’s on offer at the weekend)

Meal Planning Monday – 30th June

I’m going to start joining in with the meal planning Monday linky over at At Home With Mrs M. I thought it might give me a bit of structure for our meals rather than just deciding on the day, and also give me some inspiration!

So my meal plan for w/c 30th June:

Monday – Brinner*

Tuesday – Cheesy broccoli pasta

Wednesday – Sri Lankan duck curry (J will have a light dinner as he has a cooked meal at nursery)

Thursday – Jacket potatoes with various fillings

(Fish) Friday – Scampi & home made chips

Saturday – Out

*breakfast for dinner
