Unless you have been living under a rock and suffering from a lack of WIFI signal, then you will know who Mrs. Hinch is. The cleaning sensation of 2018 who gave B&M a big boost in cleaning products sales. Yes, some people question the chemical combinations that she uses, but you can’t deny her home is gleaming – and probably smells quite nice too.
So get your Minky cloth and The Pink Stuff at the ready Hinch Army, ‘cause here are some of the most Hinchy tips you’ll ever need.
Shopping List:
Of course, Mrs. Hinch has a brilliant shopping list. Here are a few items from it to get your stash started:
- Tumble Dryer Sheets
- Leather Wipes
- Green Shield Stainless Steel Wipes
- Fabric Stain Remover
- Dettol All-in-One Spray
- Soda Crystals
- Floor Wipes
- Zoflora
- Minky Cloths
- The Pink Stuff
There are of course plenty of others which she posts on her instagram, and she also has preferred brands – but be quick because her must-haves sell out!
Stink Holes
Get those plugs sparkly and smelling less like rot with soda crystals. Put a cup of them down the plug, and then wash it down with white vinegar. This tip was one that she told viewers of This Morning with Phil and Holly. Pop the kettle on while the soda crystals and vinegar fizz, spray some of your favourite disinfectant around the sink. Pour the boiling water in to the sink for a perfect shine. Be gone stinky plugs!
Icky Hobs
Let’s be realistic here, if you have a few kiddos and have to cook in between homework sessions, general tidying, working and just being alive, then there is going to be bits of food on your hob. Grab your tub of The Pink Stuff and paste it on. After a few minutes rinse off with a wet cloth. You might need to do this a few times if the hob has been skipped in your cleaning process a few times.
Bathrooms
They are really high traffic areas so you can tackle your sinks and plugs with the first tip. If you find yourself struggling due to old tiles harbouring mould or mildew then firstly consider upgrading to bathroom walls panels. And, secondly, use Mrs. Hinch’s bathroom hacks. Use Viakal and spray anything shiny – that includes the taps and shower head. Grab your Minky and scrub-a-dub-dub. Use the Astonish mould and mildew blaster for tough spots, and caustic soda in the drains (hair clogs are no joke!).
Other tips
Pine disinfectant lasts the longest in the air, so use them where possible. Vileda spray mops make the floor a super quick job, and you can use a zoflora mix in them to clean and scent bathroom and kitchen floors (and any other laminate or tile floors). Vacuum daily to stay on top of crumbs. And, every night before bed? Spray that zoflora all over surfaces and wipe them down. We also all throw things out that we didn’t mean to whilst blitzing the house, like spare change, keys and old photos – for new keys, thelockboss is now in Ireland!
