Both of my boys love getting crafty – they especially love getting messy with paint but they always get their clothes dirty and sometimes paint is difficult to get off! Jacob didn’t used to like doing so, but for a while now he has worn an apron whilst doing messy crafts at nursery so when we were asked if we would like to review a product from Messy Me, I knew that it would have to be the Messy Apron.

A stylish and practical apron for children, aged 3-5 years (approx.)

  • Simply wipe clean with a damp cloth using mild soapy detergent if needed
  • Also suitable for occasional machine washing at 30ºC
  • Dimensions – Length 46cm, Width 33cm.
  • Ideal as a gift or for your own messy little ones.

This particular apron comes in 5 designs but I decided to go for the red stars design as it is not gender specific, though all of the designs are lovely! Jacob was really excited to get it on and get crafting!

Messy Apron review

We discovered it was not only great for painting…

…and for making biscuits!

He made a mess on the apron during every activity we tried it with, and it wiped off straight away with a damp cloth or a baby wipe. Even the paint didn’t take any scrubbing, which is usually the case. It’s great that this apron can occasionally be stuck in the washing machine for more stubborn stains, but I actually don’t think it will ever need to be.

Messy Apron review before and after

Regarding fastening, the apron just slips over the head and the waist is fastened by tying, but I think it is most suitable for an adult to do. The apron fits both of the boys with plenty of room and I think it will fit Jacob for a good couple of years yet so definitely worth the cost as you are getting great value for money. Noah is just under the given age range but it fits him nicely too (he is big for his age though). Usually Noah will try to take an apron or covering off but he didn’t with this, so it must be comfortable to wear too.

We love this apron so much that I think I may just buy another one so the boys don’t argue over it! 🙂
