A hamper is one of my favourite gifts to give at Christmastime. Whether to say thank you, Merry Christmas, or just to treat a special someone to lots of delicious treats in one box. Prior to having the boys I made the effort to make my own treats for my own foodie hampers and they went down a storm. Since then, I barely get time to bake goodies for myself, never mind anyone else! So a pre-made hamper with ready to go items is a good place to start. Prestige Hampers can do just the job for you.
Let’s talk school run style. Well, we’ll start with school mornings in general. I’m not a fan, in all honesty. I’m really not an early bird, the boys just mess about eating their breakfast and getting dressed, they argue; but I do like being on time. I get anxious if we’re even running one minute late. So I’m the school run mum that just jumps out of bed and chucks my clothes on, ties my hair back, and doesn’t put any makeup on. I’m only a special occasion wearer of makeup to be honest! Read more
I like doing crafts on my own as I can control how much mess I make – and because I’ve made it, I don’t mind it quite as much. But when they boys mention the word “crafts” or “paint” I die a little inside. To be honest, I’d rather they just kept that part at school so I don’t have to clear up the aftermath! Or end up doing it for them… And then I met Little Brian paint sticks. My. Life. Has. Changed.
Noah has recently grown out of his previous car seat and it was beginning to look a little worse for wear. So The Husband & I had discussed purchasing a new one. Previously, N has received Jacob’s “hand me downs”. But even though J is only a foot shorter than me at 6.5 years old, he’s still in need of a booster seat for a little longer so he still requires his most recent one. At just the right time, Kiddies Kingdom offered me a seat to review from their website. Read more
Being a bookworm myself, I’m glad the boys are just as into books as I am. Unlike their daddy, who has been reading the same book for a number of years! They’re always asking to go to the library, and I make sure they have at least one book read to them at bed time. Although, Jacob has started reading for himself most of the time now, which I’m super proud of. Recently the boys were very kindly sent a copy of Brian the Lion Goes into Space.
Brian the lion is tired of hanging out with his pride – all they do is sleep all day long. While they snooze, Brian gazes at the stars, dreaming of going into space. He can’t believe it when his loved ones, tired of his moaning, present him with a DIY rocket so that he can fulfil his dream. Zoom – he’s off! After looping the loop, Brian soon lands on a moon near Saturn and meets small green gnomes who make him rainbow-coloured food and speak in a strange language, and their dragon Norris. Though things are exciting for a while, Brian is soon missing home, even the boring bits. What will Brian do? Will he stay in his new space home or return to his pride? Featuring one of craft expert Tracey Radford’s adorable animal creations, Brian the Lion Goes into Space is a sweet tale, with a wonderful moral message, that will be loved by young children.
