The Welsh Cheese Company subscription box | Review

The Welsh Cheese Company Clwb Caws

Cheese. That’s all somebody has to say to me, and I’m there. Add subscription box to that, and I’m all heck yeah, give me ALL the cheese! I’ve always been a great cheese lover and if there is ever a cheese board on a menu, that’s what I’m having. So when I was offered the chance to try out the Clwb Caws subscription from The Welsh Cheese Company, I grabbed it with both hands (quite literally, when it arrived!).

A subscription to Clwb Caws is the perfect way to ensure you have a regular supply of the very best Welsh cheese. Every month we hand pick four of our favourite cheeses, package them up and post them out to arrive with you on the second Wednesday of the month. The quartet of cheeses will always be varied and well balanced, and will weigh around 800g in total. Read more

Home-made Scotch eggs | Recipe

Scotch egg

Often seen as a guilty pleasure, Scotch eggs can also be a great on-the-go snack or protein-packed addition to a picnic. As well as protein, Scotch eggs are also high in choline – a nutrient that helps regulate brain and nerve function and keep energy levels high.

Cookhouse and Pub, Rhyl | Review

Photo by Rachel at Coffee, Cake, Kids

During the last couple of years we’ve taken our annual holiday during the summer, but this year we decided to go away over the Easter break. Whilst we usually make a trip to Norfolk, this year we made the decision to visit North Wales instead. With yet another change for our holiday, we often stay in a private cottage but this year we opted for a caravan and spent a week at Presthaven; just a few miles away from the seaside town of Rhyl. Rhyl seafront is currently undergoing a large regeneration project, and one of the recently opened businesses is the Cookhouse and Pub.

We believe bringing good things together makes them even better, from fish and chips or brownies and ice cream to a cheeky gin and tonic.

Along with freshly prepared dishes and delicious drinks, we offer a friendly service and great value.

Cookhouse & Pub, a great place to get together. Read more

Green’s Chocolate Egg Cake Kit | Review

Green's chocolate egg cake kit review

I recently posted a Slimming World friendly Easter recipe, but y’know, you just need “proper” cake sometimes, don’t you? Especially when it’s chocolate, because that’s totally Easter related, right?! And even more so, when it has chocolate eggs on top too!

But sometimes you just can’t be bothered to bake from scratch, or you don’t have the time, or the kids want to bake and you get a bit argh when they make too much of a mess because they want to “help”… But thanks to Green’s and their new Chocolate Egg Cake Kit, you can quickly & easily whip up an Easter delight!
