Nowadays, most people I know own a tablet in some form or another. The kids & I all have Kindle Fire’s, but my husband has an iPad Mini. It is our second iPad in 5 years so they have turned out to be quite bulletproof. That is, until Jacob got hold of it last year in a temper and the screen cracked! After getting it fixed, was when I realised that we actually needed some hardcore protection for it, so hubby was rather excited when we were offered the chance to review this Urban Armor Gear iPad Mini folio case.

UAG are based in the USA but I found that the case arrived in good time. It was well packaged too, but it’s that strong I’m sure it didn’t really need to be! The iPad Mini is a perfect fit in the case; it’s easy enough to get in, fits just right, but not so tight that it can’t be removed easily. The case itself is thick & bulky yet very light, though obviously it does become heavier when the iPad is in it; not so much that it is uncomfortable to hold though. The Frogskin Technology does make it easier to hold and not drop too.

The headphone port, the charger port, volume buttons and off switch are all easily accessible. One thing that hubby doesn’t like is that it doesn’t have a stylus holder, but you win some, you lose some, and it’s not a major issue. He would also prefer that in stand up mode it had ridges instead of dimples as it slips a little and he finds it a little annoying.

But never mind it slipping, it’s the drop test that really counts! And it has been dropped multiple times – some by accident, and some for the purpose of testing. I can confirm that the iPad is still fully intact, so the Urban Armor Gear iPad Mini case certainly lives up to expectations in that respect!
