Our Favourite Five is a monthly linky from Maria at Suburban Mum – there are no strict rules, just that you can link up a list of five of your favourite things from the last month. I thought it would be good to think about what we have enjoyed during the past month and we can also look back on our lists in the future 🙂
Now obviously it’s a little late as it’s now May but April was a fun month for us so I thought what better month to start on! I will try and post on time every month but, well, I am usually a bit delayed with routine posts (while thinking that I haven’t posted the boy’s monthly updates in a while, oops!).
So, what did we enjoy during April?
Devon Cliffs
We went on our annual holiday at the end of April, and as Jacob has been in a cottage and on a boat previously, we thought we would have a caravan holiday, so we took a trip to Devon Cliffs! Hubby & I have been previously, we visited just over 4 years ago when I was half way through my pregnancy with J. Because I was pregnant there obviously wasn’t much we could do so we really made the most of it this time and visited a few different places, though there was more than enough to do on the park itself! I’ll have some reviews for you soon of what we got up to 🙂
Nick Jr on NOW TV
We recently became NOW TV ambassadors and since I downloaded the app on my phone, the boys both love to watch Nick Jr in bed in the morning (though this channel will be disappearing from the Entertainment pass on the 21st June), and I don’t really mind as it gives me an extra half an hour in bed…ahem. Their favourites to watch in April were Paw Patrol and Wallykazam. J has recently taken a liking to Shimmer & Shine though!
Cottage cheese with pineapple
Yes, this quite a random one, but I haven’t been able to get enough of it recently! In one week of April I think I went through about 3 tubs… And no, it’s not a craving, I can assure you! 😉 I think it’s just because it’s a summery taste with the addition of pineapple, and being a free and protein food on Slimming World, I can eat all I like! I’ve been enjoying it with salads, with my dinner, in sandwiches, on crackerbreads…even just straight from the tub, ha!
Trips to the park
Since we have moved I have found it difficult to take the boys to the park as I am still taking driving lessons, and it is in the next main village, 3 miles away; it’s a long walk down a country road with two small children! So whenever we go out in the car with Daddy we have to have a quick stop off at the park as J loves it there, and it also happens to be right next to the school where he will be going in September so it is helping him get used to the idea and the location.
Buffer for Twitter
I only started using the free version of Buffer in April after recommendations from friends, and I love it! I only share a couple of posts a day from it as I do like to have real time actual conversations on Twitter too and I don’t like seeing a constant stream of scheduled posts, but I’ve found it has been great for sharing some of my favourite posts and recipes and it has generated quite a bit of traffic. I had been putting it off for a while as I was worried it was going to be complicated to use but it’s so easy really!
What’s on your list of favourites from April?

Ooh we were in Devon at Easter as well! Looks like it was the place to be and looks like you all had a fun time! Kathy x #OurFaveFive
Sounds like a fab month with a trip to Devon, never been to the place, but reading a lot about it made me interested to visit it one day. My kids love paw patrol too and when they’re on it, it gives me some peace, lol. I’m also learning to drive at the moment, I think it’s ideal especially having kids so we can bring them wherever we want when daddy is not around with car. Lovely post! #OurFaveFive
I wish we were still back in Devon – it’s so nice there. I definitely want to go back! Cottage Cheese with pineapple though? I like pineapple but not cottage cheese. My boys are also obsessed with Paw Patrol – I can never get the theme tune out of my head!
Thank you for linking up to #OurFaveFive and I hope to see you back again for May x
