A few years ago, I used to be really big on reading magazines. Gossip and food related magazines were my go-to’s, but I can’t remember the last time I actually bought a magazine that wasn’t my regular Slimming World one; other than buying comics for the boys! I pick up the occasional supermarket magazine, but that’s mostly for the recipes; I end up ripping them out and storing them in a folder as whole magazines just take up too much space, don’t they? With Readly though, you have practically the whole magazine world, in your hands.

Though I’ve regularly bought issues of magazines before, I’ve never had a subscription; honestly, because I’ve just never been able to afford the upfront cost. With Readly, you don’t just get a subscription to one magazine and need to spend time debating which is the best one to go for; you can read over 2100 titles and as many issues as you like, including backdated ones – for just £7.99 per month! I think that’s a pretty good bargain, especially if you usually buy 2 or 3 magazines a month at a cost of around £4 each. There are categories from animals to music, food & drink to health & fitness. As I said above, one of my go-to categories is food, and that’s mostly what I’ve been reading, on Readly.

Readly - Food & Drink

My thoughts

Food & drink related titles on Readly include Olive, Cake International, Weight Watchers Magazine, and two of my favourites – BBC Good Food and delicious. I was pleased to see that there were many back issues, so you are able to choose from months ago if you wish. For example, issues of delicious. go all the way back to March 2014.

Readly - delicious magazine

There are many great features on Readly, but one that I really love is that you can bookmark pages; so in essence you are able to save your favourite recipes and easily be able to get back to them. The app also allows you to zoom in, which is handy when you are recreating a recipe so you don’t have to keep straining to see. Page selection is also made easier with the scroll feature along the bottom of the screen.

Readly - page selection

All in all, Readly is great for taking 10 minutes with a cuppa to have a browse, whilst deciding what to make for dinner!
