Receiving the December Degustabox was like receiving an early Christmas present full of surprises. Only this particular present, I had to share. As usual, I was keen to tuck in as soon as it arrived! There was a good mix of food & drink, and both sweet & savoury inside, just in time for Christmas.

  • Receive your Degustabox every month filled with goodies.
  • All for much less than you would pay in the shops!

So what was inside the December Degustabox?

December Degustabox contents

Planters Nut-rition (Energy Mix, Health Mix)

I believe I’ve received a Planters product in a previous Degustabox, so I expected that these would taste good. These nuts arriving in the December box was perfect, as I love a few nuts around Christmas! Both packs had a good amount of each type in and were very more-ish. I preferred the energy mix as this one contained chocolate covered honeycomb too, yummy.

Sleep Well (Vanilla Milk Drink)

I only had a little taste of this as The Husband claimed it, but I can confirm that it tasted lovely; very creamy, and a delicate vanilla flavour. I can’t actually confirm whether it helped him sleep well, as he could sleep through an earthquake anyway!

Candy Kittens Gourmet Sweets (Sour Watermelon)

We’ve also received Candy Kittens in a previous Degustabox, though a different flavour. I love a really distinctive flavour like watermelon so I really liked these; they were very moreish and I kept sneaking one everytime I went into the cupboard they were stored in! Jacob liked these too, but Noah wasn’t keen.

Popchips Galactic Puffs (Barbeque)

I’m aware of the Popchips brand but I’d never come across this variety. I’d thought I’d save these for the kids, but obviously I had a taste. Or two. Or three… Anyway, the kids enjoyed them with their lunch as the flavour wasn’t too spicy or overpowering like some barbecue flavours can be; they wouldn’t have eaten them otherwise.

Ryvita Lightly Salted Rye Cakes

I mentioned in a previous Degustabox review that the boys have a rice cake every evening before bed, so they had the majority of these. Again, they weren’t so keen on them on their own, but ate them with a topping such as honey or jam. I did have a taste and I wasn’t keen either.

Taking The Pea (Smoked Ham)

I have actually tried these before so was looking forward to tucking in again. Only I hardly got a look in, as The Husband ate most of them before I could… So they must have been nice! Being dried peas they are super crunchy, and the smoked ham flavour is really rich and moreish.

Coldpress (Valencia Orange)

Coldpress is another brand I’ve tried previously, so I had an idea of what this would be like. But yet again, not that I had much of it; Jacob was the culprit this time! We had this straight from the fridge – always the best way to have pure fruit juice. It had a slight tang to it, but a strong orange flavour.

Robinsons Fruit Creations (Pear, Blackcurrant & Cherry)

I’ve been spotting this lots in the supermarket recently, but before receiving it in the Degustabox I wasn’t aware of this variety of Robinsons. These flavours aren’t any that I would have thought to put together, but it was actually very nice. No particular flavour was overpowering, but they were all distinguishable.

San Miguel 0.0%

San Miguel is one of my favourite lagers; not that I drink lager much nowadays, but it would be one of my go to brands. I wasn’t aware that they did an alcohol free version, but this tastes no different to the usual.

Mary Berry’s Foods (Lemon & Mustard Seed Vinaigrette)

I wouldn’t have expected Mary Berry to have a savoury product on the market (I always think of her as the sweet baking queen!), so this was a surprise to see. I love lemon flavours but I’m a bit fussy with mustard, so I wasn’t sure I would like this. It was a pleasant flavour, but not one I would be likely to purchase myself. Lemon was the predominant flavour and the mustard wasn’t too strong, but I wasn’t keen on them together.

Willies Cacao Black Pearls (Passion Fruit Caramel)

When chocolate is included in a Degustabox, it’s usually the first thing we tuck into! Reluctantly, we all shared these; I say reluctantly because they were bloomin’ gorgeous! A really creamy chocolate shell with a super smooth passion fruit caramel filling. Passion fruit caramel sounds a bit of a strange combination, but it was actually really good. I am dying to try the Sea Salt Caramel flavour, as salted caramel is one of my favourites!
