On Thursday hubby had a day off work so we spent the day at my father-in-law’s – I thought we would only be going for a few hours but after he offered to buy us tea, we stayed all day! (Well you can never refuse a meal where you don’t have to cook, can you?…). Grandad lives out in the country and has lots of outdoor space so J loves to go outside and exploring. Hubby and his brother were fixing his car and I’d gone to take them a cuppa when J appeared. He ‘helped’ them for a little …

Sharing a room – an update!
You may have read last month that we were making preparations to move the boys into the same bedroom. Our main reason for this was – and maybe it was a bit selfish on our part – that we wanted our bedroom back! After having a child in there for nearly three years (in a cot, and then a co-sleeping toddler until N was born) we just wanted ‘our’ bit of space back. It meant us giving up the biggest bedroom but that was a fair sacrifice to make! When the day came, my brother-in-law came to help with the swapping …
Little man J at 2 years 10 months old
I’m quite a bit late with this update – life has just gotten in the way recently and I’ve lost my blogging mojo a bit. Though I realise that the next update I write for J, he will be three! THREE! I think when he does turn three, I might do a monthly update like I do with N as he is changing so quickly now that two months seems too long between them. The little man …
Preparing for sharing a bedroom
So we’ve finally made the decision to move the boys into the same bedroom. We knew it would have to happen at some point but have been holding off. We only live in a small 2 bed flat and currently we have the bigger bedroom. If we were to move N into J’s room it just wouldn’t work so we’re going to be swapping our rooms around too (though we won’t be decorating – maybe just a lick of paint – as we hope to move this year anyway! Not that our bedroom has been decorated since we moved in …
Toddler troubles – sibling jealousy?
I mentioned briefly in J’s last update that we are having a few problems with J’s behaviour towards his brother, which is really getting me down lately. I really don’t know where to start to be honest. He started a couple of months ago, which thinking about it is coincidentally around the same time as N started moving about a lot more so requiring much more of my attention, meaning J getting a little less so most likely getting jealous. First he started with smacking him on his head, then he started pushing him backwards when he was just sat there …
