Review – Plum Little Yums teething wafers

Even though he’s now 2 years old, little man J is still teething. His first tooth came through at 9 months old, and he still only has 12 full teeth – 13 & 14 are currently on their way through! I use teething powders for him which seem to help, but when he’s really bad he won’t eat much; so when the lovely people at Plum Baby got in touch to try out some of their new Little Yums teething wafers I gladly obliged.  Little Yums are light, delicious wafers made with the nutritious ancient grain buckwheat, plus fruit and veggies. They’re the perfect …

Little man N’s first vaccinations

N turned 8 weeks old on Saturday, so yesterday he was booked in to have his first lot of vaccinations. As I did with J, I was dreading it, though I think they upset me more!  First though we had to see the doctor for his check up. When I laid him on the couch for her she exclaimed “He’s tall isn’t he!” as he filled the whole width! He is tall though, just like his Daddy and big brother. She was happy with everything and how he is growing, though she said she was going to give me a prescription …

Being a big brother

I recently wrote about little man J at 2 years old, and briefly mentioned how he is coping with being a big brother. Since then he has come on a bit more too and is really getting used to it and helping more now.  He does still get jealous sometimes and I have to make sure that I don’t leave him alone as we have near on had a couple of ‘incidents’ with him! Instead I take the brunt of it, as any Mummy would. I mentioned that he likes to give him kisses – when he’s given N one …

Recipe – Banana loaf cake

Banana cake is a firm favourite in our house, especially with little man J who loves both bananas and cake! And big Mr just loves cake in general… This recipe is very simple and you can vary it such as adding cinnamon & walnuts, yummy! You can also top it with icing (lemon icing is good) if you so wish, but it is delicious without, especially with a cuppa. Ingredients 2/3 ripe bananas 1 tsp lemon juice 100 g butter 100 g caster sugar 225 g self raising flour 2 beaten eggs Method Preheat the oven to gas mark 6/200C/400F. …

Little man N at 1 month old

So it’s time for the first of little man N’s monthly updates (a little lot later than planned…)! I can honestly say that time is going much quicker this time – probably because I’m constantly on the go! We managed to get him registered the week after he was born – so he is officially NWJG! I’d forgotten how lovely it was to make them all official. N was breastfed for the first four weeks – he also had some formula during this time meaning he became a proper little chunk. He only lost 4 oz in his first 5 days.  At his …
