Heart-Melting Moments

I recently blogged about how J was getting on with being a big brother and how he had ‘improved’ since N was born. Every day he is just becoming more & more loving towards him, and it really makes my heart melt and brings a tear to my eye. He still helps me with N – with nappy changes and getting him dressed etc. – but he is becoming so much more affectionate and sympathetic towards him too. He has recently started giving him proper cuddles, arms round him and everything – he has never done this before. He doesn’t realise …

#TimeToTalk – Mental Health Awareness Week

There isn’t much I can write about mental health that I haven’t previously written in the blog, If you have followed my journey since I gave birth to J you will know that I suffered from post natal depression & anxiety. Chicken, mushroom & butternut squash risotto | Recipe

We don’t tend to eat risotto very often now as it’s time consuming and I never seem to have much of that spare anymore, but sometimes I just fancy it and like to add different ingredients for a change. We had a butternut squash in our veg box this week so I decided to add that. Of course you could also make it without chicken, I only added it in the end because hubby is a fuss pants! Ingredients (serves 2-3) 1 onion, diced 1 garlic clove, finely chopped 1/2 a butternut squash, peeled and chopped into bite sized chunks …

After a couple of issues and setbacks last month regarding the posting of my parcel from my penpal Kim, I finally received it this week – better late than never as they say! Anyhow, it was worth the wait in the end as it contained lots of yummy items. First up some naughty sweet stuff: a chocolate cake bar – I’ve just tucked into this but I had a pear afterwards, so that cancels it out, right?… a mini pack of Lotus biscuits – I’ve had these before and they are delicious. a Reese’s NutRageous bar – I love these …

Little man N at 2 months old

2 months old! Just where has the time gone?! N had his first visit to baby group at one month old, though he slept the whole time whilst his brother played! He was in the sling though which explains it, he could sleep forever in there.  He also had his first visit to the doctors! For a few days he had a white tongue, at first I thought it was just deposited milk but after trying to remove it, it wouldn’t come off. It turned out he had a case of thrush, poor baby. We got some medication and it …
