Everybody loves a nice muffin, right? I may be in the minority but I prefer a fruity one to a chocolaty one. First of all, it’s healthier as it has fruit in, yes? Secondly, it’s so delicious biting into it and tasting the juicy fruit, and it looks so good oozing from the top. I love baking muffins as well as eating them, there are so many wonderful combinations and they can be made even healthier for children too but they still think they are getting a treat. And the smell; the smell when baking them – amazing! Actually right …

Recipe – Bejewelled summer fruit terrine (#SlimmingWorld friendly)
I know summer is now over and winter is well & truly on its way, but this recipe could be adjusted to include winter fruits (plus I’ve had this post sat in my drafts for months so I thought I better share it, okay…). Who can resist jelly, whatever the weather? The pomegranate seeds in this one look just like little jewels. My boys even loved it so you could pretend that you’re making it for the children too. Though it’s obviously a more summery dish, you can still enjoy it whenever you want, as it’s only 3 syns for the whole thing …
Review – The autumn menu at Brewer’s Fayre
Autumn. My favourite season. Time for snuggly jumpers, scarves, boots, log fires, and hot chocolates with marshmallows. I didn’t have that, but on Monday we did sample the new autumn menu from Brewer’s Fayre. We were lucky enough to be invited to Cheswold Lodge in Doncaster to do so. I didn’t know that there was also a play centre there so we ended up eating in there, but it was worth the £3 each (for 1.5 hours of play time) to keep the boys amused between courses! It was quiet in the main restaurant area when we arrived at 4.30pm …
Recipe/Tutorial – ‘Home Sweet Home’ Victoria sponge celebration cake #GBBOBloggers2015
So the Bake Off final. Everybody reading this must have watched it, right? I knew who I wanted to win (Nadiya), though I think they all made amazing showstoppers! It made me get my thinking cap on about what I was going to produce for the Bloggers final. I never managed to join the final last year so I didn’t want to miss out this time, though I know I am up against some brilliant competition! I knew I was going with a showstopper classic British cake, and I had a few ideas before I actually took inspiration from a …
Recipe – Peanut butter and chocolate tart #GBBOBloggers2015
You may have noticed I haven’t joined in with the Bake Off for a few weeks (the last time was with my rainbow frangipane tart for which I received star baker!). First we moved house and then the following week my father-in-law passed away so I’ve had a lot going on, plus we have only just had internet installed so I’ve only had a mobile connection and haven’t even opened my laptop until yesterday. Anyhow, I really wanted to join in with chocolate week and after watching the show I immediately knew I was going to make a chocolate tart. …
