So it’s the beginning of December (yay!), and a new tradition I wanted to introduce this year was the ‘Elf on the Shelf’. I’d seen people doing it last year and was really excited to see what all of the elves were getting up to, so as J is a bit older this year I decided to go for it! I didn’t buy an official elf on the shelf though, as I think they look just a little bit freaky – you know, like they might actually come off the shelf and kill me…or something. Instead, we purchased an elf ‘kit’ from …

Review – Hobbycraft wooden advent calendar
Even as adults, hubby & I still tend to have a chocolate advent calendar – you know, we’re still big kids! We’ve forfeited them this year though as we both eat enough chocolate as it is. For the last couple of years I’ve really fancied a wooden advent calendar (either pre-made or DIY) but have just never got around to getting one. I was recently given the opportunity to review a DIY wooden advent calendar from Hobbycraft so I excitedly jumped at the chance as I haven’t gotten crafty since last Christmas! I received a tree shaped advent calendar and some …
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…
On Thursday evening we went to see the town Christmas lights being turned on. We attempted it for the first time with J last year but it didn’t go very well in the end – we were running a little late so we were half way down the high street when they went on (so missed the countdown and bits before) and then they had fireworks which J was terrified of and just cried at so we left! It was much more successful this year though. We left in good time as we knew it would be very busy, not …
Review – Lapland Mailroom personalised Santa letter
Can you believe it’s Christmas so soon?! I don’t know where the year has gone – since N arrived, it’s gone so fast. One thing we’ll be doing next month is writing letters to Santa – well, I’ll be writing them whilst J tells me what he would like, and I think he’ll tell me what N would like too. Now anyone would think that we’ve written them already, as I already have Santa’s reply letters here (shhh, I will post them so the boys will never know!). They have come straight from the Lapland Mailroom! The Lapland Mailroom has three …
Our Christmas
It’s a little late, but here is our Christmas update for 2013! I really enjoyed the run up to Christmas this year, especially as little man has been so much more aware than he was last year, when he didn’t have a clue really! The preparations involved putting up the tree & decorations, making salt dough decorations, taking little man to see Santa Claus, and organising his treat bag for Christmas Eve! Christmas Eve this year was a day of last minute preparations – the first year I have been so unorganised! I had presents left to wrap, and I had to …
