Review – Ideal Home Show at Christmas

I shared with you last week some information about the Ideal Home Show at Christmas and after waiting rather (im)patiently all week, on Thursday we finally made the trip to Manchester to start off our Christmas adventures! I had originally booked a train for the unworthy hour of 7am, I was going to take J with me, and hubby was going to stay at home with N. But when we got to the station…the train had been cancelled! (So glad I got insurance on that ticket). Cue me getting upset because I had promised J a journey on the train and …

Ideal Home Show at Christmas – 12-15 November 2015, EventCity Manchester

November is here, and in this house it means it is the beginning of the count down for that thing that is happening next month. It begins with a ‘C’. You know, Christmas?… Yes, I’m one of those people that gets excited about it ridiculously early and will probably bore everyone to death with it by the time it rolls around! Our Christmas 2014

I’m a little bit late as I’ve hardly been around since Christmas, or have been busy sorting ‘things’ that we seem to have accumulated a lot of this year! For me, the Christmas period has seemed really long this year. I’m not sure if it’s because we started doing Christmas activities in November or because Buddy came to visit for most of December, but once Christmas & Boxing Day was out of the way, the majority of our decorations came down. I’ve kept all of my signs and our cards up but they’ll come down once New Year has been and gone. Christmas Eve Hubby was …

Elf on the Shelf adventures (days 17-24)

So this is the final week that buddy has enjoyed with us. It’s been quite hard finding different things for him to every day as we just don’t have the time, I don’t know how other people do it! So it’s mainly been a case of hiding him somewhere for J to find. He has still enjoyed it though and gets excited when he finds him. I’m not sure how he’s going to be when Buddy has gone though, I imagine he’ll still look for him for a while! So here’s what Buddy has been up to in his final …

Our Christmas decor

Up until a couple of years ago my Christmas decor included a lot of pink & silver. I used to be obsessed with everything pink but nowadays I’m not so fussed. When J came along and we started getting decorations relating to him and his name, I decided that I wanted to go for a more traditional, ‘collected along the way’, homely look. And now we just have a mish mash of decorations on our tree! Home-made ones, personalised ones, hand-made by other people ones, novelty ones, traditional ones, and a few I’ve kept behind from my last ‘style’. I …
