For a while now I have been lusting over a SassyBloom box as every box that I’ve seen contained fantastic items no matter the age of the baby/toddler it was sent to. So I was ecstatic when I was given the chance to review a box of my own – well, for N really but for me to open – I love surprises through the mail rather than the usual everyday post! SassyBloom boxes are suitable for the 3rd trimester of pregnancy and up until your child turns two years old. To get your box personalised as close as possible to your …
A to Z of Family – L is for Learning
Learning. Every day, we are learning. We encourage ourselves to learn, we encourage our children to learn. Being a parent is a journey full of learning. Even before you become a parent, you go to classes to learn how to be a parent – but can you really learn something that is supposed to come naturally? There is no ‘one book fits all’ in the world of parenting. Nearly three years on, I am still learning, every day. I am learning that being a parent of a toddler is hard, damn hard. Recipe – Crusty bread rolls
In my opinion there’s nothing better than home made bread – well there is, but I mean in terms of bread. These crusty bread rolls are best just warm from the oven, served with soup. The milk & butter used makes them lovely & soft. I used three different toppings but you can top them with whatever you like really. Ingredients (makes 12) 750 g strong plain flour 1 tsp salt 1 sachet fast action yeast 375 ml milk, warmed 50 g butter, melted flour for dredging poppy seeds grated cheese Equipment large bowl oiled cling film baking tray Method …
Recipe – Spicy butternut squash soup
Now it’s turned Autumn it’s just the weather for a lovely soup, especially a spicy one to warm you up. I like my soup nice & thick but you could add a little more liquid to it if you like yours a bit thinner. This is yummy served with crusty bread rolls straight from the oven. Ingredients (serves 4) 1 tbsp oil 1 large onion, diced 2 garlic cloves, crushed 1 medium butternut squash, peeled & seeded & diced 1 …
{Rant} Too big here, too small there…
When it comes to buying clothes for my little men I don’t really have a favourite brand or shop – I buy from charity shops, bargain shops, supermarkets, high quality shops – I’m not really a clothes ‘snob’! Basically, if I see something I like and can afford it, I’ll buy it. My boys seem to be on the larger side as they have long legs and and torsos, so they are usually in the next size up before they need it anyway. One problem I have with them is that a particular size in one shop can be too …
