Slimming World weigh in #30 – the highly unexpected one…

After my gain last week I was determined to lose that this week. As I said last week my decreased appetite had returned and I was really just eating a load of rubbish. This week though as much as I wanted to eat, I just couldn’t as it was too painful owing to a wisdom tooth infection – huge blooming ouch! The times I could manage to eat I just grabbed whatever was about, and with the pain I didn’t feel up to cooking either so more rubbish was consumed. I went to the emergency dentist the day before weigh …

Recipe – Good old plain baguettes (Hollywood style) #GBBOBloggers2015

Bread week. The bane of my life. I am positively rubbish at bread, it always fails, and I always have to try again. Which is exactly what happened this weekend. I decided to try baguettes as I’ve never made them before and they were quick(ish) as I’ve been busy – it was another late night baking session on Saturday! I found Paul Hollywood’s recipe from his very own website and I followed it to the t. But my dough looked way too sticky. So I did it again…and it ended up exactly the same! Then I just thought sod it, I’ll …

Slimming World weigh in #29 – the one with a gain again…

After my loss of appetite for the last four weeks it seems this week it has returned with a vengeance. I have eaten so much rubbish – a couple of takeaways, quick meals for convenience as we’ve been rather busy with preparing to move, and then I’ve been snacking on more chocolate and biscuits than I usually would too. I did try to rein it back a bit in the couple of days before weigh in but I think I already knew I would be a lost cause at this one so I was gearing up for a gain. I …

Jacob at 3 years 5 months old

So I seem to be on time with this update – though I did miss his last one due to my blogging break but I thought I’d just skip straight to this one! His behaviour has improved so much in the last couple of months. We do still have our moments but nothing like it was before. I no longer go to collect him from nursery dreading what they are going to feed back to me that he has done this time. It feels a bit strange saying it as I obviously didn’t condone it before, but I’m glad he …

Recipe – Peanut butter & white chocolate cookies #GBBOBloggers2015

I always seem to struggle when it comes to biscuit week as I don’t really make many biscuits; I did very briefly consider the technical challenge but then I decided against it as I haven’t had a lot of time this week and this bake was actually only just done at 10.30pm on Saturday evening! I have had a jar of Peanut Hottie for ages and for that whole amount of time I have been meaning to make these cookies, so I used biscuit week as the opportunity to finally get around to it! The cookies have just the right amount of peanut …
