I’m Stacey, a bookworm (or should that be dragon?!) from a quaint hamlet on the outskirts of Lincolnshire. In my late 30s, I’m a devoted mum to two wonderful boys who are both autistic—a unique aspect that makes them different, not less. Miscarriage – why should we have to wait?

Many of my regular readers will know how we suffered a miscarriage back in December 2012. It was such a heartbreaking time for us, as it is for anyone. The thing that it made it worse? Waiting. Having to wait a whole weekend for a scan at the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit. Why? Because there were no staff to do it. If you were following my blog at the time you will know how the end of my pregnancy panned out, but I will tell you briefly just to refresh and for anyone who has just found me. I started spotting …

#VlogChallenge Week 1 – Top Tips

I’ve been thinking about vlogging for a while, but I’ve put it off because I’m so nervous, and I hate my voice (and myself) on camera! And I never knew what to vlog about. We’re …

Little man N at 4 months old

So here it is. N is now 4 months old. A third of a year. I said it last month – I will probably say it every month. Time. Slow. Down. Please. It’s amazing to see how he is growing each month, and about now he is developing his own little personality. He is becoming so cheeky already. When he is going to sleep – or more like we’re trying to get him to sleep – he will eventually nod off but this is just a tease. A couple of minutes later he will open his eyes, look up at …

Breastfeeding envy

As my regular readers will know, I suffered terribly with breastfeeding guilt after not managing to feed J. Though I only managed to feed N for a few weeks and it was quite upsetting for me to stop even though it was my decision, I haven’t suffered with it half as much. One thing I have suffered with though, is breastfeeding envy. Envy Envy is an emotion which “occurs when a person lacks another’s superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it” Bertrand Russell said that envy was one of the most potent …
