Yesterday was a lovely day here in North Lincolnshire and it was hubby’s day off work, so instead of the mundane tasks around the house that we had originally planned, instead we decided to take J to feed the ducks and have a picnic by the river. Feeding ducks is one of J’s favourite activities and he loves to carry the bag of bread to the car and keeps hold of it all the way there. Recently we even discovered that ducks like sweetcorn! (We were going on the way home from Nanna’s and she had no bread so gave …
#VlogChallenge Week 2 – Fashion/Beauty
Even though I found the first #VlogChallenge from last week embarrassing (which was actually from the week before, I’m a bit behind as usual!), I thought I’d give the second one set by Kate over at WitWitWoo a go, even though I don’t really ‘do’ the theme that was set – Fashion or Beauty. I’m basically rubbish at beauty and well, pretty much the same at fashion! I had to have a think for this one, but I came up with something in the end – although it’s still a short one and the others I have seen so far have been longer. But …
A to Z of Family – F is for Father
I know that my boys most likely will never call their Daddy ‘Father’ but it does still fit with the theme, and I used a different one for the week of D so I thought I’d use it for this week as it is of course an important part of family. I know that my husband doesn’t think he is the best father sometimes – heck, I never think I’m the best Mummy either! – but to me, he is. He tries his best. J is very demanding, boisterous, temperamental lately and hubby doesn’t have as much patience with him as …
Meal Planning Monday – 14th July
So last week’s meal plan didn’t quite go to plan. On Monday we went for an impromptu meal out so we had Monday’s on Tuesday as the potatoes needed using, so the burgers are on this week’s. On Saturday I didn’t have anything as I didn’t feel well but J still had his (hubby had a microwave burger, yuk!). Here is my meal plan for w/c 14th July: Monday – Ham salad using the salad from our weekly fruit & veg box Tuesday – Veggie sausage rolls, homemade chips, and beans Wednesday – Spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread Thursday – Jacket potatoes with …
Noisy Day Press And Play Soundbook | Book review
Little man J loves his books and we are building up quite a collection. The most recent one we have added is the Noisy Day Press And Play Soundbook from The Works. J does like books which I can read aloud to him and have pictures which he can point at and tell me what everything is, but he would much rather play with noisy books! This noisy book helps children to learn their first sounds, learn to count, and learn their colours and shapes along with the daily life of the workers in the book – such as firefighters, the vet, the …
