I’m Stacey, a bookworm (or should that be dragon?!) from a quaint hamlet on the outskirts of Lincolnshire. In my late 30s, I’m a devoted mum to two wonderful boys who are both autistic—a unique aspect that makes them different, not less. Review – Betty Crocker cake and brownie mixes

Betty Crocker

If you took part in any of my blogaversary giveaways then you may have entered the Betty Crocker one. I have recently been lucky enough to receive some yummy mixes from Betty Crocker to review myself. I love baking and creating recipes, but sometimes when I am baking just for family visiting or something, then I might not have time so a bought mix is just as good – I still have to bake it so I’ve kind of made it! I had never tried the mixes I received but even when the package arrived I was already drooling and …

Little man J at 3 years 1 month old

It wasn’t that long ago when I posted J’s last update, but it’s only been just over a week since he turned 3 years 1 month and I’m trying to get these updates posted sooner – maybe I’ll have a bit more consistency now! He is definitely outgrowing the toddler stage now and turning into a proper little boy – I can’t get my head around the fact he’ll be going to school next year. He is fast becoming the man of the house – he wants to do everything that we do and has an almighty strop if he …

Slimming World weigh in #14 – the one where I finally lose again!

After my maintain last week and my gain the week before I decided that I was really going to try and get my head back in the game as I was desperate to get my Club 10 award. It was hard as I still had a little bad emotional head space but I managed. I ate better all week, stayed within my syns – I even had the tiniest bit of cheesecake on Sunday to make sure – as I was determined to get another shiny to add to my collection. I had been sneakily weighing in at home just to make …

A day out at Rand Farm Park

I may have mentioned before but on a Tuesday we go to a play group involving soft play and sensory activities. The group is funded by the local community centre and at the end of the block of sessions, if there are enough funds available, then we get to go on a trip. At the end of last year’s sessions at Christmas we had a country park and Father Christmas visit; this time we were lucky enough to get a trip to Rand Farm Park. I’ve wanted to take the boys for ages but we’ve just never got around to it so …

Little man N at 1 year 1 month old

I am rather late with posting this update – over three weeks in fact – but better late than never, hey?! (I’m sure I’ve said that before…). So it seems N is on that precipice between baby and toddler, which I have named the boddler stage (well actually Sarah at Let Them Be Small suggested the term over on Twitter, and I’ve stolen it, I think it’s great!). He is becoming so much like his brother and I’m not sure who I have to watch more nowadays, N or J! He’s definitely developing his own mega cheeky little personality that I think …
