Why choosing a good Storygraph or Goodreads username matters

Your username is part of your online bookish identity. It’s how other readers recognise you in buddy reads, comments, challenges and reading updates. How this bookish username generator works

This simple tool is designed for Storygraph, Goodreads, Fable, Bookstagram, BookTok – anywhere you need a fun, on-brand bookish username.

  1. Pick your vibe.
Choose from cosy, dark academia, romantasy, or general bookish. Or select “Surprise me” if you’re feeling chaotic.
  2. Choose your options.
Tick “No numbers” if you don’t want anything like 99 or 451 on the end.
Tick “Short usernames only” if you want something easier to remember and that fits neatly in profile screenshots.
Tick “Lowercase only” if you like that clean, minimalist aesthetic.
  3. Click “Generate username”
The generator combines adjectives and bookish nouns to create a fun handle – such as CozyChapterNook, MidnightTomes, or faekissedreader.
  4. Copy your favourite.
Once you’ve found a username you love, tap “Copy username” and paste it straight into Storygraph, Goodreads, or wherever you’re updating your profile.

You can click the button as many times as you like, and there’s also a “previous ideas” list so you can scroll back if you forget the one you liked three clicks ago.
