Weight loss journey – the next step

Not long after the little man arrived, I had lost 17lbs of pregnancy weight (after a 29lb gain). Now it’s starting to slowly creep back on as I’m not being as careful as I could be. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not eating as much as I did during my second trimester, and before I started my weight loss journey, but I could be eating less and exercising more, and I know that.  So I’ve decided to be more active on MyFitnessPal again, which is a fab calorie and exercise tracking website which many of my friends also use. I lost 50lbs …

The weighting game

No, not a typo… I’m now back on the weight loss drive!  Before I fell pregnant, I had reached one of my goals of a loss of 50 lbs (my target loss being around 72 lbs). I had pretty much fallen off the wagon though, and was just about to get back on it as it was getting me down, when we got our BFP. My first 2 weeks as a Mummy

Well I see little man took over my blog for a day! What a good vocabulary he has already! Takes after his Mummy you see! So, my first two weeks as a Mummy… It’s been amazing just having our little boy here. I’m still sore, some days it’s worse than others, and so is the bleeding. It had slowed right down but has gotten worse …

Weight in pregnancy (and before)

Managing weight in pregnancy is easy for some women, but difficult for others. I guess it’s easy to rapidly gain weight when you are pregnant without really noticing, especially if you live by the old saying “I’m eating for two!”. The truth is, you really don’t need to eat for two, not until your third trimester, when even then you only really need an extra 200-ish calories. The NHS says most pregnant women gain between 22-28lbs, though of course it varies greatly depending on your weight beforehand.  Before I fell pregnant I was already managing my weight, so it has …

PCOS – how it affects

Earlier this month I wrote a post on the facts of PCOS. This post will be about the affect it has had, or it has, on other people. My experience with PCOS has been quite short in a way, but looking back from during diagnosis and afterwards, I think in a way it has been a lengthy one too. Ever since I started my periods they have been horrendous – heavy, long, never knowing when they were going to start/end. At school I was put on tablets because they were so heavy, but they made me sick so I stopped …
