I have mentioned in J’s last couple of updates that potty training is a-go at the minute – on and off anyway – so with Potty Training Live! taking place and the chance to review Dry Like Me potty training pads we gave them a go. Before Potty Training Live! I hadn’t heard of the potty training pads, but after reading up on them I thought they sounded like a great idea for if you really want to get stuck in with potty training and get it done with quickly. The basis behind Dry Like Me potty training pads is that they …

A to Z of Family – H is for (Little) Helper
Recently J has become a real little helper for Mummy. I say he helps, he attempts to but with some things I let him then just do it again when he’s not looking… Though sometimes his help is really more of a hinderance! I do appreciate the thought though and that he just wants to be like Mummy. Some of the jobs he likes to help with: dusting sweeping the floor cleaning accidents on the carpet fetching nappies putting nappies in the bucket putting toys away taking the dishes away (which always nearly gives me a mild heart attack when …
A to Z of Family – B is for Boys
Though ‘Boys’ is my main subject of this weeks A to Z of Family post for the letter B, I can list other ‘B’s’ combined with it that I have experienced with my boys – though mainly J as N doesn’t do an awful lot yet! Is this just a boy thing or a toddler thing in general? Boisterousness J has been boisterous for as long as I can remember. …
Little man J at 2 years 2 months old
J is becoming a proper little man now. He is quite tall for his age, so sometimes I often think he is beyond his years and forget that he’s not much over 2! Since the last update, in the last month or so he has become so independent (if not stroppy when he can’t do the things he wants to do, so we have to reverse and let him do it himself!). He loves to take his own rubbish to the bin (for example when he has had a banana or box of raisins), but when the kitchen gate is …
Parents evening
Last night we attended our very first parents evening at nursery for little man J. It felt a little odd as he’s only 2, but the nursery have it for the older children too so everyone is welcome to attend. Though he always has good feedback when I collect him, I was still a bit nervous that he had been hitting or biting as he still does this at home (though they have never mentioned it so I presumed not). When we arrived, his key worker (C) was available so we went through straight away whilst J played with one …
