I always seem to struggle when it comes to biscuit week as I don’t really make many biscuits; I did very briefly consider the technical challenge but then I decided against it as I haven’t had a lot of time this week and this bake was actually only just done at 10.30pm on Saturday evening! I have had a jar of Peanut Hottie for ages and for that whole amount of time I have been meaning to make these cookies, so I used biscuit week as the opportunity to finally get around to it! The cookies have just the right amount of peanut …

Recipe – Black forest cheesecake (with a twist) #GBBOBloggers2015
I’m so excited that it’s the return of the Great Bloggers Bake Off! Jenny over at Mummy Mishaps did a wonderful job of hosting last year but this year she is handing the reins over to some other bloggers to guest host too and one of them will be me in a few weeks, eek! I’m very determined to add to my badge from last year for my salted caramel & chocolate tart, but we shall see. 😉 So the first week of the Great British Bake Off was cake week as per usual, and I was absolutely drooling over the black forest …
Meaty conchiglie pasta bake | Recipe (Slimming World friendly)
Pasta is a firm favourite in our household and we tend to eat it at least once a week – even better that it’s ‘free’ on Slimming World so I can eat as much as I like! (The dried version anyway). A couple of months ago I received some vouchers from Tesco to purchase some of their ‘finest’ pasta and I bought some large conchiglie pasta shells. I was going to stuff and then bake them but in the end I just went for this fuss free pasta bake. Totally delicious and very low syn on Slimming World!* Ingredients (serves …
Chocolate orange cake squares | Recipe (Slimming World friendly)
Now don’t get me wrong, even though I’m following Slimming World I do still eat ‘proper’ cake. Sometimes I will begrudgingly syn it but other times I will just completely ignore it and hope for the best! This is one of my new favourite Slimming World recipes though, it tastes a lot like a chocolate orange and is definitely worth the 2.5 syns a piece. This recipe uses chocolate Philadelphia but you can also use chocolate spread (50g will make them 2 syns each), it’s just as tasty. I made it for our latest group taster session and it went down really well! …
Recipe – Lemon & ginger cheesecake
When I made this cheesecake, I just fancied something lemony, and I was thrown back to the boozy lemon cheesecake I made last year. I wanted this one to be child-friendly though, and that it was. It has just the right amount of lemon flavour, and the ginger gives it just a little more zing. It is quite sickly though so it might go further than the stated servings, it depends how much sweetness you can take! Ingredients (serves 6-8) 150g digestive biscuits 50g butter, melted 500g cream cheese 397g condensed milk 150ml double cream 2tbsp sweetener 6tbsp lemon juice …
