Is there such a thing as a toilet regression? Why do I ask? Because, well, we seem to be having one with Jacob right now. It’s been 4 months now since we moved and his Grandad passed away, but we have had no other big changes since then so I am trying to figure out the reason, or if it is actually just a phase – in which case I shall just repeat the mantra “This too shall pass. This too shall pass.” It wasn’t actually long after we moved that he started to do all of his business on …
Spaghetti carbonara | Recipe (Slimming World friendly)
Pasta is a favourite dish in our house so I am really glad that I can eat as much of it as I like on Slimming World. Recently though it has been a case of finding pasta dishes other than bolognese, lasagna or a pasta bake. This spaghetti carbonara is delicious with the whole family enjoying it, and it’s even more enjoyable knowing it is only 1 syn per portion! It is even more perfect served up with a slice of garlic bread. Ingredients (serves 4) 6 lean rashers of bacon with all visible fat removed 1 garlic clove, crushed …
Slimming World weigh in #48 – the one with a loss again…and a non scale victory!
So after my last couple of weigh ins I was really disappointed with myself as I was just so out of the zone and I knew I absolutely needed to get back on track. Last week was okay and I was mainly on it, but my head just wasn’t completely back in the game as I had a Subway breakfast sub on Saturday and I have had the odd few biscuits here & there (damn those favourite custard creams! Unfortunately there aren’t any biscuits I don’t like…). I had been a lot better than the couple of weeks over Christmas though when I …
Room Ideas for Aspiring Creatives
“I work at a 17th century elm table. I sit on a William Morris Arts and Crafts Chair.” Jeanette Winterson, 2015 It would be nice to think we were just a few well-chosen antiques away from writing that first novel, but there’s possibly a bit more to it than that. Which doesn’t stop writers giving plenty of credit to their creative space as a source of inspiration any chance they get. Judging by the number of open studios scattered around the world, artists aren’t shy about opening doors either. And don’t get us started on show-off designers. You can’t turn …
Blogging resolutions | 2016
After having a few impromptu blog breaks last year, I have decided that I am going to at least try and up my game a bit this year. I know, I may just have to take a break at some point again but I hope to be more organised this time, if need be. Blogging is still mostly just a hobby for me, but all bloggers have to admit that people reading their blog is an amazing feeling and so promotion, regularity and consistency is important for that. With that in mind, I decided to write myself a little list …
