My reading and listening during August matched July due to it being the summer holidays and my fatigue being even worse with the boys being at home. We also had our annual summer holiday so I didn’t read or listen much – I was either exploring or sleeping!
My reading (and listening) has slowed down this month and I read less than in June – mostly due to the numerous end-of-term activities, and the kids finishing school for the summer! I did manage five books, though, with three of those being for my book clubs, so I didn’t read much of my own choosing!
June was a slightly better reading month than May, in terms of quality, anyway. I managed six books again, with a couple of those being for book clubs. I also managed another book for my 12 books recommended by 12 friends reading challenge. I’m still behind, but I’m confident I’ll manage it!
May wasn’t a great reading month for me – both the amount and what I read. I only managed six books, and half of those were for my three book clubs. I also decided I’d better start one of my reading challenges: 12 books recommended by 12 friends. Last year, I read a different one each month, so I’m behind with this one already!
It’s a new year and a new chapter of books I read! I wonder if I can surpass last year’s number of 81? I have set my Goodreads goal to 87 books, so it’s not too many more. It may seem like a random number. In fact, it’s the average of the last two years (2023 and 2024) totals. It will also be a nice £87 in my pot for next year’s books!
