Two years ago we said goodbye

Two years ago we said goodbye. We never saw you. We never felt you. We never heard you. But every day now, We see you – in your little brother. We feel you – in our hearts. We hear you – an angelic voice, inside of us. The hurt, the pain, that will never go away. It will ease. It is easier. But it still hurts. That you’re not here, physically. One day we will meet again. Until then, until I can finally hold you in my arms, I will hold you in my heart, Forever.

Recipe – Pineapple upside down cake

Every couple of weeks we get a fresh fruit & veg box delivered and one of the fruits that is nearly always in there is a pineapple. Ingredients (serves 5-6) 150 g butter 150 g caster sugar 150 g self raising flour 3 eggs 1/2 tsp vanilla extract 6 pineapple rings Method Preheat oven to gas 5 / 375F …

Elf on the Shelf adventures (day 1)

So it’s the beginning of December (yay!), and a new tradition I wanted to introduce this year was the ‘Elf on the Shelf’. I’d seen people doing it last year and was really excited to see what all of the elves were getting up to, so as J is a bit older this year I decided to go for it! Instead, we purchased an elf ‘kit’ from …

Little man J at 2 years 8 months old

So my biggest little man is going to be three in 4 months time! How? How?! I must say I am really dreading him becoming a ‘threenager’ as he is absolute terror enough at the moment and we are really struggling with him. He is becoming more & more independent every day. He can now manage to unfasten and take his shoes off, he takes his own coat off, he starting to be able to undress himself. He’s progressed really slow in these areas (but advanced in others) but we are finally getting there – since he’s been at nursery he …

Review – Organix baby & toddler products

With a greedy toddler & baby in this house, who never stop eating (well obviously they do at some point, but it doesn’t feel like it!), I have to make sure that I’ve got plenty of snacks and the like for them as one of them will be wanting food at practically every point in the day. The lovelies at Organix recently sent us a box of goodies for J & N to try out. In the goody box, we received: multigrain mini cereal puffs (RRP £2.49) apple rice cakes (RRP £1.19) vanilla multigrain hearts (RRP £1.99) banana, peach & …
