Recipe – Peanut butter and chocolate tart #GBBOBloggers2015

You may have noticed I haven’t joined in with the Bake Off for a few weeks (the last time was with my rainbow frangipane tart for which I received star baker!). First we moved house and then the following week my father-in-law passed away so I’ve had a lot going on, plus we have only just had internet installed so I’ve only had a mobile connection and haven’t even opened my laptop until yesterday. Anyhow, I really wanted to join in with chocolate week and after watching the show I immediately knew I was going to make a chocolate tart. …

Slimming World weigh in #32 – the one where I'm losing my mojo…

After my maintain last week I was quite determined that I would weigh less this week. I was on plan more than I was last week but we did still end up having a takeaway or two, though I did pull it right back. I’ve managed to still lose before when this has happened so I guess I thought I was ‘safe’ and therefore just kept plodding on amidst being back & forth to our new house, packing, and running after the boys; so a lot of energy being used as well! Some of my on plan meals from this …

Pastry week – a bit like bread week – is my nemesis. It’s usually always a double take for me with pastry so when I saw the bakes for this week I had no qualms about what I was going to do. Vol au vents – nope, I resorted to ready made puff pastry last year, so no go this time! Flaouna (what?!) – nope, no time to attempt a technical challenge at the minute with the business and stress of moving house. So a frangipane tart it was. I’ve made a tart before so I could just about manage …

Little man N at 1 year 5 months old

So, as it was with J’s last update, it’s been a while since I last posted one for N too – which was his 1 year 3 month old one so a couple of months ago now. Since then he has really transformed into a proper little toddler and forever left babyhood behind! Though J still calls him his little baby N, bless him 🙂 He’s slowly growing out of his bed time milk too; he often doesn’t finish the bottle and instead just fights sleep, he’s just like his big brother in that respect. He loves his milk on his cereal …
