Last week I never got around to posting my weigh in update, so I’ll add it on to the bottom of this one like I’ve done previously. So how have I been doing? Well, I’ve been more on plan in the last couple of weeks than I have in the last couple of months but snacking on not so good things is still a minor problem. I’ve been avoiding buying biscuits for everyone else – if they’re not in the house, I can’t eat them, and neither can they, but tough! I also stocked up on fruit again for snacking …
Potty training and growing up with Thomas | Giveaway (CLOSED)
Regular readers of the blog will know that J started potty training early last year and since then we have been up & down like a yo-yo, going totally off track at points too and right back to the beginning with him wearing nappies full time. Though deep down it was frustrating for me, I vowed to myself that I wouldn’t force it as he obviously wasn’t ready and I know from other people that it could have set him back even more rather than encourage it. Still, it’s taken a long time and we have introduced Thomas & Friends …
Review – The autumn menu at Brewer’s Fayre
Autumn. My favourite season. Time for snuggly jumpers, scarves, boots, log fires, and hot chocolates with marshmallows. I didn’t have that, but on Monday we did sample the new autumn menu from Brewer’s Fayre. We were lucky enough to be invited to Cheswold Lodge in Doncaster to do so. It was quiet in the main restaurant area when we arrived at 4.30pm …
Review – The Gro Company Gro Clock
If you have been with us since the beginning of the baby years, then you may know that we have always had trouble with J & sleep. N seems to be a bit better but we would like to nip it in the bud before he gets to J’s age and is still having sleep and bed time issues which is a nightmare to deal with every night with one child, let alone two. Both boys tend to usually get up between 6am & 7am though sometimes it is much earlier. We all know that an early day equals grumpy …
St John Ambulance #thechokeables awareness campaign | Giveaway (CLOSED)
I was deeply saddened recently to hear the news of the little boy who died from choking on a grape. Unfortunately though, this isn’t an isolated incident as children choking on food is more common than you think. 40% of parents asked by St John Ambulance have witnessed their baby choking, with almost four-fifths not knowing what to do in such a situation. We may be one of those parents that thinks “Oh it will never happen to my children”, but what if it did? Would you know how to deal with a choking incident? I must admit, before this …
