I’m Stacey, a bookworm (or should that be dragon?!) from a quaint hamlet on the outskirts of Lincolnshire. In my late 30s, I’m a devoted mum to two wonderful boys who are both autistic—a unique aspect that makes them different, not less. I also share my home with my husband and Barney, my lovable Frenchie x Beagle.

A poem about hair (and kids)

Source I wrote this poem many years ago about the kids making me pull my hair out . It is still highly relevant today (if not more!) with them both being autistic (I love them just as they are, but many days are hard!) I’ve rewritten it slightly to reflect our growth as they were two and four back then – they’re now ten and twelve! I’m sure many parents can relate; we’re all in this together.

Books I read (and listened to) in April | Reading in 2024

April was another slow reading month – one of the books I read was quite hefty so I only managed six books again. It may have only been five if one wasn’t a graphic novel and another a novella! I read 1,116 pages and listened to 45.58 hours – a little more than last month. I didn’t read any nonfiction this month so 100% was fiction. 50% of my reading was audio, 33% was print, and 17% I read on Kindle.
