Now I don’t know about you, but I only vaguely remember the last solar eclipse in 1999. I would have been twelve years old and science or solar eclipses weren’t on my mind at that time… I don’t even remember what I was doing at the exact time it happened, most likely at school?! Anyway, I’m sure I’ll remember exactly what I was doing at the time of this one in 2015, as I was showing J the different ways of seeing it safely! I also had a go at explaining it to him, though in simple terms as he’s …
Slimming World weigh in #9 – the one with two awards!
After my last few rubbish weeks I decided that this week I was going to be right back on track as I was determined to get that one stone shiny! And this week I was back on track. I synned everything I should have, stopped stealing the boys’ food, stayed within my syns every day and ate healthy home cooked meals all week. I felt much better for it too. I also noticed my clothes have started to get a little baggy so I decided to measure myself and since measuring at the beginning of February I have lost 1.5 inches …
Zip It & Train! | Book review
As an avid reader and now writing my own book review blog, I want to make sure that my boys love reading too. J is at that stage now where he is starting to want to read them himself, and he sometimes reads to his brother, too (when he’s feeling a sharing mood). At the minute though it’s the case that I read them a few times and J memorises it so is able to repeat, which I think is wonderful! We were recently sent two new books from Little Tiger Press which he has taken to; they are his …
Wee wee (he) did it!
I first wrote about J and potty training when he was two years old – so nearly a year ago – and we have been on & off with it ever since. We reviewed Dry Like Me potty training pads back in the summer last year but we didn’t get very far with them as he just wasn’t showing much interest. We haven’t been forceful with it, we have just gone with the flow and let him lead the way but recently we have been encouraging him a little more. A couple of months ago Nanna bought him a Thomas Tank musical potty as …
Slimming World – weigh in #8
After my previous two rubbish weeks and going off plan a bit, I was determined that I was going to do a bit better this week. It didn’t happen though – in fact I was much the same! With cake club on Thursday and fish & chips at my father-in-law’s on Friday, and then Sunday dinner at my brother-in-law’s with Yorkshire puddings and non-SW friendly roasties, I was quite positively expecting a maintain or even a gain! One thing I have got into the habit of though if I do happen to go off plan slightly, is keep my syns as low …
