Things not to say or do to an overdue pregnant woman

Now, I was pointed to a few words last week by a friend when I wasn’t quite overdue, but nearly. I was hoping it wouldn’t be the case that I would be, but hey, it happened! I’ve stolen and slightly modified bits from it which I think everyone should be aware of, or you may be on the end of a pregzilla at some point. All meant in a bit of jest of course. (Well, most of it…) You may not ask a pregnant woman more than the two allocated times, when her due date is. If you cannot recall …

40 weeks and a midwife appointment

I haven’t updated over the last week, been too busy trying to get this little man out! Well it obviously didn’t work, as I made it to my due date! We had our 40 week appointment yesterday, which I thought was a little odd being on a Sunday, but there was a midwife there, just the one! Maybe they only see you on a Sunday if it’s your due date… Anyway, everything seemed fine, except for a protein trace in my sample. Which was the same when we went to the hospital when he wasn’t moving. She’s sent it off and I’ll get a …

39 weeks

I made it to 39 weeks.  To be honest, I thought I would, as I was only 1/5 engaged at my 38 week appointment (I was a little confused to be honest, as both the midwife and student said 4/5 engaged when they were having a feel, but in my notes it said 4/5p.!). Anyway, I was still 1/5 engaged on Wednesday when I went to the hospital, but that was only 2 days apart so not too bothered about that. I wish I personally knew a midwife so I could know if he was any more engaged! Though it’s …

Pregnancy blues

All the way through my pregnancy, there’s only been one period, around 14 weeks pregnant, where I’ve had the fed up feeling. It really frustrated me at the time, because I knew how lucky I was, and I didn’t want it to happen again. Well it seems it has. Sigh. Over the last week, all I’ve done is cry every single day, usually at stupid, random things. Today I can’t stop crying. The main reason though – and I feel awful and incredibly frustrated at myself for even feeling like I do, for the reasons that I do, as it …

Monkeying around

You may recall on Tuesday I said we were going to a friends for dinner. We had a lovely evening with curry & cake, and little man was incredibly active, squirming and wriggling about, giving me those lightening pains at the same time! Well, I think he wore himself out that night. Usually he moves a lot first thing in the morning when hubby gets up to go to work, and then in the morning and in the afternoon, then again in the evening, with a few little movements in between. I woke up yesterday morning, he kicked me a …
