Mother’s Day is yet again just around the corner, and whilst it’s nice to want to maybe pee in peace or have a lie in or breakfast in bed; it’s just as nice to receive a token gift, don’t you think? I’ve put together this selection of gift ideas for Mother’s Day – hopefully you’ll find something your mum will approve of!
Edible gifts
Nim’s fruit & vegetable edible teas
£5 per box of 12, available from Nim’s
These Nim’s edible fruit & vegetable teas would be great as part of a hamper, perhaps for the health-conscious woman in your life. The loose tea infusions use only fresh fruit & vegetables that have been air-dried to preserve their natural flavour. They can be used with a tea infuser or adding to a mug with hot water. Once used, the rehydrated fruit & veg can then be eaten! Each box contains 12 sachets, and they come in three varieties; pineapple & kiwi, pineapple, beetroot & parsnip, and beetroot & parsnip.
Guylian Belgian chocolates
From £5, available from Guylian, major supermarkets and independent retailers
I’m pretty sure Guylian is a household name nowadays, so who wouldn’t love a box of Guylian Belgian chocolate seashells? I would! Made with only the finest roasted and caramelised Mediterranean hazelnuts blended with premium Belgian chocolate, they’re sure to satisfy the taste buds of many a mum out there! They are available in a 250g 22 piece box, or a 375g 33 piece box.
Joe & Seph’s gourmet popcorn
From £4, available from Joe & Seph’s
If we can’t have a little bit of luxury for Mother’s Day, then when can we? For something a bit different to chocolate, what about some gourmet popcorn treats from Joe & Seph’s? All of their popcorn is handmade in London using only the finest natural ingredients – and it comes in over 50 flavours! Including white chocolate & raspberry, speculoos, mint chocolate, and marmite – to name but a few! Vegans need not miss out either as there are six flavours in the vegan range. For an extra treat, add a pot of their luxurious caramel sauce with flavours including gin & tonic and prosecco.
Mummy Meagz rocky road bars
£1.49 per bar, available from Holland & Barrett or various online retailers
These vegan rocky road bars from Mummy Meagz would also be great as part of a self-care hamper. Each bar is quite substantial weighing in at 55g and comes wrapped in funky striped packaging! There are four flavours to choose from – original, orange, mint, and sea salt & cinder toffee. The basic bar contains only three ingredients – Mummy Meegz very own gluten free biscuit recipe, vegan marshmallows, and vegan chocolate – and no fruit! Because as Mummy Meagz says – who wants fruit in a rocky road? (Personally I love some cherries in there, but these are tasty in their own right!).
Useful gifts
Raise Up Mums resilience cards
£15, available from Raise Up Mums
This pack of resilience cards would be a great gift to include in a self-care package. Though especially great for mums, any mum could benefit from them – let’s face it, we all need a little self-care in our lives at times. The front of each card shows a short prompt, and then the back has more detailed information, instructions, or advice. The great thing about these is that they are easily actionable within everyday life, so there is no extra pressure to add to a never-ending to-do list. They come in a pack of 50 and are printed on high quality, thick card.
Lovall Leggings
From £24, available from Lovall
Whilst mum is eating the chocolates you’ve bought her from the section above, she could be relaxing in a pair of seriously comfy leggings. Love Leggings are soft, comfortable and completely non-see through, and come in both cropped and full length. As well as the old faithful classic length, they also come in a petite length for the shorter legged women like me, and for those with longer legs, a tall length. (As well as sports and maternity!) There is a multitude of colours to choose from too, whether the recipient likes a classic black or prefers a brighter colour such as pink or yellow!
Vanilla scented candle
£2, available from The Works
If you are planning on putting together a hamper then a candle makes a lovely addition – perfect for when mum is lounging in her leggings and eating her chocolates! These small 65g candles from The Works are a fresh vanilla scent and come in a variety of colours with different quotes on, including “Home Sweet Home”, “Someone Special” and “Lots of Love”.
Cook It Slowly! cook book
£8.75, available from Dairy Diary
Busy mum but keen cook? Then the Cook It Slowly! cook book may be an ideal gift. Each recipe within the cook book takes 20 minutes or so to prepare, then can be left to cook slowly; either on the hob, in the oven, or in the slow cooker. The recipe book is split into three chapters: meat-free (baked red onion soup, chana dahl…), meaty mains (lamb jalfrezi, chilli beef stew pot…), and puddings, bakes & cakes (banoffee pavlova, tarte au citron…). Each recipe has been triple-tested and comes complete with tips and nutritional information.
I was sent some of these products for inclusion in this post.
Yup.. this is something I am really looking forward to… I am glad its come… thanks for sharing some gifts ideas… I always struggle alot 🙂
The idea of tea is always welcome. Although my husband and I have already made a present for my mother. We ordered a 3D figure of our family and presented it to mom. We ordered on the site https: //www.3dgeneration.com and everything was done very beautifully.
If you return to the idea of tea. Once I already gave a set, I also added to it a mug “The best mother in the world.” I packaged tea in bags, made handwritten inscriptions with pleasant words. This is a variation of the same idea if you have more free time.
Do not forget your most important woman in the world to recall how you love her.
These are incredible… thanks for sharing 🙂
