Carrying out one big deep clean will mean that you don’t have to go to all this effort ever again over the next twelve months. Not sure where to start with your spring clean? Here are some tips that can get you started.

Declutter First

You won’t be able to clean properly if there is a lot of clutter strewn throughout your rooms, so it’s best to tackle this first. So that your decluttering doesn’t seem like one mammoth job, it’s worth tackling one room at a time. This breaks up the big job into lots of more manageable ones. Plus, once you’ve finished sorting the clutter out in one room, you will feel like you’ve achieved something!

Use Natural Products

When it comes to cleaning your home, it’s always best to stick with natural products so that you don’t risk releasing any toxins or strong chemicals into the house. Your oak furniture can be smartened up with a beeswax polish. When it comes to cleaning stubborn areas in your kitchen and bathroom, you can usually make your own cleaners using ingredients like vinegar and bicarbonate of soda.

Read Labels On All Fabrics Before You Start

Before you start to clean any fabrics, such as carpets, cushion covers, and soft furnishings, you should always read the label. The carpets won’t have a visible label on them, but you should have been given a guide to maintaining them when they were fitted. This guide and any label should mention what materials the fabrics are made from, and some care guidelines. As fabrics can be very delicate, you should always check this information to make sure you aren’t cleaning them with anything that could discolour or damage them.

Cleaning Your Carpets

Carpets can harbour all sorts of hidden germs, especially when you have pets and messy children! Now is the time to get them cleaned and looking – and smelling – fresh. You can make the job easy with ProLux carpet cleaning who will come and do the job for you whilst you sit back and relax.

Clean Your Microwave With Steam

Lots of people struggle when it comes to cleaning their microwave. They worry that using too many chemicals might ruin the inner workings of it. There is one way around this, though – you just need to use steam to loosen off any of the dirt and grime inside it. To do this, simply mix vinegar and water in a small bowl. Place the bowl in the microwave and turn it on for about ten minutes. After this time, you will find that it is easy to wipe clean the microwave with a dry cloth.

Go Through All Your Clothes

Now is also the perfect time to sort through your wardrobe and get rid of any clothes you no longer wear. Don’t throw them out, though. They can either be sold online or donated to a charity shop.

Enjoy your big spring clean!
