September Degustabox | Subscription Box Review

September Degustabox review

As you may be aware, I really love receiving a surprise Degustabox through the door once a month. September was no different, but I also decided to do an unboxing video which you can find below; you will see I had a little helper who was very noisy! But he’s cute so I’ll let him off 😉 The boys and The Husband also tried some of the products with me this month. I can also say this box had one of my favourite products so far.

  • Enjoy 10 to 15 surprise products, many are completely new to the market!
  • Receive your Degustabox every month filled with goodies.
  • All for much less than you would pay in the shops!

So what was inside the September Degustabox?

Metcalfe’s Popcorn Thins (Milk Chocolate)

I love popcorn at the moment as it is fairly low syn on Slimming World, and Noah occasionally has rice cakes as a snack, so we shared these. Unlike the usual rice cakes, you can tell these thins are made from popcorn as they have a different kind of texture to them. The added chocolate layer feels like they are extra naughty!

Get Fruity Bars (Marvellous Mango)

Noah sometimes has fruit bars for his snack, so I gave this to him; he seemed to enjoy it! I had a bite though to try it, of course. It had an obvious mango flavour but it wasn’t overly sweet due to no added sugar. I’d like to try the other flavours, they sound delicious!

Cape Drinks (Pineapple & Passionfruit, Peach & Lychee)

These drinks are a sparkling blend of rooibos tea and fruit juices. They also contain added vitamins, ginseng and natural botanical extracts; with no added refined sugar, they are naturally good for you and better than other sparkling drinks. They were very refreshing and no one flavour was overwhelming; I could taste each individual fruit.

Cirio Borlotti Beans

As a Slimming World member I always have a variety of beans in my cupboard so I knew straight away what I was going to make with these – a five bean chilli! These are smaller cans but with other ingredients added, they go a long way.

Emily Crisps Crunchy Banana

I liked the sound of these, but when I opened the packet I could immediately smell the overwhelming sweetness. I did try them and they tasted very sweet, too sweet for me. They were quite sticky too. The boys weren’t really keen on them and only had a handful.

Hartley’s No Added Sugar Jelly Pots (Strawberry, Orange, Tropical, Raspberry)

We have had these before and the boys love them. They are great for hubby to take to work as they don’t need to be stored in a fridge, and the 10 calorie pots are only half a syn so I like them for a treat too. They are very fruity; so much so that Noah wasn’t keen on the tropical one as it was very tangy, but I loved it! They’re very wobbly, like a good jelly should be!

Teisseire Sirop (Raspberry & Cranberry)

I actually have some of the caramel and vanilla syrup drops from Teisseire so this wasn’t a new brand to me, but I knew it would be high quality. This is a fruity syrup that you can add to still or sparkling water; I’ve only had it with still water though. I did find that you need quite a bit of it otherwise it tastes quite weak. It is low calorie though with no sugar so that’s not so bad. It has mainly a raspberry taste with a cranberry undertone. They also do a lemon flavour which I think would be lovely with sparkling water!

Say YES to No Bread Chips (Dutch Gouda)

Oh my goodness. I had never heard of this brand before but I absolutely loved these! They were so so tasty, I kind of begrudged having to share them with hubby as I could have eaten the whole pack! They are so cheesy yet so crunchy & light. I’m a little bit sad that they are only available in Waitrose (we don’t have one nearby) as I’m sure I would be buying them all of the time! These were definitely my box favourite!

Mrs Crimble’s Fusilli

I shared this with hubby so we had it as a side dish with sausages and garlic bread. (A bit random, I know!) It was lovely though, easy to cook and very creamy with a definite mushroom flavour. It’s great that it’s gluten free too, for those who have allergies.

Chia Bia Whole & Milled Chia Seed Sachets

I’ve never tried chia seeds before, though I have been meaning to for ages. I had these on top of fruit & yogurt, and mixed into my porridge too. I wouldn’t say they have a distinctive flavour but they are a great addition to almost anything for a bit of added nutrition.
