Hello my loyal readers – long time, no speak! Or should that be write? Anyhow, it’s been a while. A very long one. I don’t think I’ve written ‘properly’ for over a month. I had planned to get everything crammed in before Christmas (was it a good one, by the way?), and then have a few days off, but neither of those plans went to, well, plan. But, I’m here now.

Up until a few years ago I’d never cooked a Christmas dinner; never even thought about it, in fact. Since The Husband & I met almost thirteen years ago, we’d always alternated Christmas & Boxing Day between our families; so there was no need for me to cook Christmas dinner. If there is one thing I love eating during the festive season, it’s shortbread. Though the shop bought stuff is tasty, I do love to make my own as it is so simple and fills the house with tempting smells; it’s hard not to eat it straight from the oven!
