While travel has been halted for many of us (thanks to the pandemic we are experiencing at the time of writing), we can still plan ahead for a time when we can safely enjoy a trip away with our loved ones. Now is the time to create a travel bucket list, or add to the list you have if you have already given it some thought.
But where to? What destinations are perfect travel spots for families to visit together? It’s important to cater to both adults and children, after all.
Well, here are some suggestions we hope you find useful. Add them to your bucket list if they take your fancy, and start saving now for that day (hopefully sooner than later) when you will be able to pack your suitcases again and head out on your adventures.Read more
One of Jacob’s subjects he is passionate about right now is the world and countries; he owns a number of atlases which he studies every night before going to sleep. We will often be having a conversation and he’ll randomly tell me a fact about the world that I had no idea of.
We generally have staycations but J is always telling me of the places he would love to visit. Recently during his pirate project for school we discussed where he would travel to if he were a pirate He decided on the other side of the world! It has always been on my bucket list to travel to India. I’ve mentioned in previous travel posts how I love to look at the architecture of different countries and discover their history; finding out about the culture too. I’ve mentioned previously how The Husband & I would love to travel the world when the boys have grown up and entered the big wide world on their own. One country we are always talking about that we would love to visit is Italy. Mainly because – we had planned a trip to Lake Garda for our honeymoon, but unfortunately that fell through. We’re determined to visit Italy one day, though!
I love discovering the hidden gems in new countries, but I like to do the traditional touristy things too. The main cities I’d love to visit are Rome and Venice; I always think of Venice as the Italian city of love! Maybe we could head there for our next big wedding anniversary… Possibly leaving the laptop open on the Destination 2 website would drop a massive hint… 😉
You may have seen the cheesy meme going around recently; you know the one, where we only get 18 precious summers with our children so we must make the most of them. That’s all well and good, and to an extent I agree. But sometimes, just sometimes; we may have had enough, want a break, want to pull our hair out; just want them back at school! And that’s fine, too.
I’m not going to lie, I really struggled with them last summer. We were going through a really difficult time with Jacob and his behavioural issues, which made it hard for me mentally, wanting to take them both out on my own all of the time. Other than going away during the last week of summer, I’m going to admit that we probably had quite a boring six weeks. That’s why this year, we’ve made a bucket list! Read more
