One thing I learned during – and after – lockdown last year, was just how important self care really is.
I find self care in many ways – going for a walk, taking myself out for a coffee and cake, reading, baking, and even just sitting and watching TV with a coffee.
Late to the party (as always, just not actual parties as that’s anxiety inducing for me!) I started binging on series and box sets.
I often have two or three on the go at once – which could be something I watch by myself during the day, a weekly series that I watch with The Husband, and something we’ve been meaning to watch for ages so have a whole series of on our Sky box!
We don’t have any TV’s upstairs in bedrooms right now so we usually snuggle on the sofa, but I’m dying for a king size TV bed so we can watch upstairs in an evening. It would also solve the problem of one of us falling asleep and having to drag ourselves to bed on waking up! (Usually me…).
What I’m loving to binge on TV right now
So what have I been watching recently?
This Netflix series I really was late to watch because I wanted to read the book first (which is a regular occurrence for me..). But when I started, I was hooked. I’ve read all three books too, and it’s really only the first season that is true to them.
This is one case where I prefer the screen version to the books! And I now cannot wait for the 4th season. (Who else actually really likes creepy Joe?)
This is a series The Husband & I have watched religiously since the remake first started. We didn’t manage to keep up with it weekly this season as it started when we were on holiday, so a couple of weeks ago we binged them all.
I’m not ashamed to admit I shed a tear on the final episode, knowing it was the final season. We’re really sad it’s not going to be back next year!
We love our foodie programmes and this is another series we have watched since pretty much the first season aired. This is a top favourite to binge on TV as it airs five days a week!
When the judges changed a couple of seasons ago we were a bit unsure about how it was going to compare, but we soon got used to them and still love it as much as ever. In fact a little more than the UK version…
We’ve only just started watching this, and we are currently on the 3rd episode. I mainly wanted to watch it to see what the hype was about and I had FOMO (I’m down with the kids here, but if you’re not – Fear Of Missing Out). Gory movies don’t bother me so I wasn’t too bothered about that aspect, but other than the very first episode it seems a bit slow going at the minute – I’m hoping it gets better! I can’t stop myself from watching though…
What TV shows are you loving at the minute?
