The Husband & I spend many an hour daydreaming about all of the places we would love to visit when the boys have upped and left home, and we have a bit more money. It would be amazing to travel the world, and see in real life all of the places we’ve seen on television, in movies, and in pictures.
The furthest we’ve ever travelled is Europe (by plane and boat), so to fly long haul would be an adventure for a start! Although we spend these hours daydreaming, it would be so hard to choose where to go first. For this bucket list post, I’ve whittled it down to three.
Three famous landmarks I’d love to visit
The Great Wall of China in Beijing
The Great Wall of China is somewhere The Husband is always talking about; he says he’d love to ride his bike along it. Number one, I don’t know how he’d get his bike there; and number two, I don’t think he realises just how long it is – all 13,000 miles of it! I think it’s one of the most iconic structures ever built and it would be pretty amazing to see it up close. And walk some of it 😉

Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi
This is another place The Husband has posed an interest in visiting, as it features in the Fast 7 movie; you know the scene where they jump the car through? Yeah, that’s something else he would love to do…ahem. Do you think I should tell him that it might be highly illegal, never mind dangerous? 😉 Nonetheless, with Tower 2 being the 3rd tallest in Abu dhabi, I think the towers themselves might be a spectacle to behold. Never mind the view from the observation deck.

The Grand Palace in Bangkok
The Grand Palace is somewhere I have marvelled at many a time. I don’t take a great interest in architecture in general, but I am often stunned at how beautiful many buildings are. The structure and design alone of The Grand Palace is stunning; up close I think it would truly be magnificent to behold.

destination2.co.uk specialise in long haul travel so with a few hours perusing their site, I think we would be able to reach a decision!
