Our January & February favourites – | Crafting, exploring, and snow

January February favourites

It seems it’s been a while since I last shared a favourites post – back in January with our December favourites in fact! I feel like I’ve been really busy since then, but looking back I don’t think I actually have; probably just lazy, then… We’ve not had that much going on really; we had half term and then the boys’ birthdays, but that’ll go in a March update. I guess I need to share two months worth of favourites in this one!

So, what did we enjoy during January and February?

Last year I signed up to start receiving a monthly Toucan Box for the boys as they love crafting and these usually aren’t too messy(!). The one they received in January was African themed and they made these kente weaves; I say they, but of course I did the majority of it. I think I did a pretty good job! 😉

I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned before, but pre-children I used to be a serial comper. I would spend a couple of hours each day searching out and entering competitions and would win some pretty good stuff; an iPad2, a bunch of baby stuff, and a couple of weekends away, to name but a few. Nowadays I’m more of a casual comper and will just enter what I see on social media rather than searching them out. I absolutely adore this box frame I won in January!

Why does February half term seem to come around so soon after they’ve gone back after Christmas? It seemed to zoom in this year! We spent a lot of our time doing various crafts and exploring our local area with some lovely woodland walks. It was so nice to see that spring was just around the corner too.

I’m not totally sure why I’ve included this; it had an annoying affect on Noah’s birthday celebrations for starters. But we did enjoy it for the first day it was around. The boys more so I think, because they didn’t have to go to school! We were out in it pretty much first thing, almost knee deep for the boys. They enjoyed some sledding and making snow angels!
