Today we’re going away on our annual family getaway. Nowhere exotic, just Anglesey in Wales! Though I am rather looking forward to it after what we’ve been through this year. It will be bittersweet though as my mother in law was supposed to be joining us; though she will of course be in our thoughts. We’re staying in a lovely little cottage in Holyhead.

As much as we would love to go abroad, we can never afford it. But, we have come to enjoy our UK holidays very much and will probably continue for years to come. I think a lot more families are choosing to holiday in the UK for /much the same reasons. If I really did want a guaranteed sun holiday abroad though, I would check out what deals there are for Expedia at Voucher Badger.

We have had at least one UK holiday every year since 2007 and have done a lot of exploring. They can be just as good as a holiday abroad, though you usually don’t get the amount of sun to go with it; unless you go in the summer and we have a heat wave! We’re lucky that we can go out of half term at present so we can get the cheaper prices, but obviously sometimes we have to compromise on the weather. A holiday is what you make it though, and I always do lots of research for things to do.

Our usual destination is the Scottish Highlands, but we decided on a change this year. I’ve been checking the weather forecast and it looks like rain for the beginning of the week, but may brighten up. Hopefully!

I won’t be blogging next week (apart from posting my pregnancy diary) but I have some fab posts lined up for you. All from a few bloggers writing about their favourite UK holiday destinations. Reading through them has already made me want to visit the destinations!
