As well as lots of presents for Christmas, our little guy came away with not only two front teeth (finally!) but a horrible cough as well.
It had been building up since Christmas, obviously with us going here, there & everywhere, he had caught germs, and it reached its worse on New Years Eve. He was constantly coughing and I just wished I could stop it, so horrible to see, so we dosed him up on Calpol. As well as his cough, first one of his bottom teeth started cutting through, then a few days later we noticed the other, and he hasn’t been very good with it. It’s about time though, as he has been teething since he was 10 weeks old, poor boy! With a mixture of his cough and his teeth, he was a very grumpy little fella, and his cough waking him up every night, then realising his teeth hurt and screaming, meant he came in to co-sleep with us for a few nights. Though it was tiring being up multiple times through the night, I loved it really as he snuggles up to me.
His cough wasn’t getting any better so on Friday morning I rang the doctors and got him an appointment. She checked him over, his temperature was OK, and his ears and chest were clear, so she said it was just viral at the minute and to keep giving him Calpol and bring him back if it worsened.
It has slowly got better and now he’s slept through the last two nights, and not been coughing as much during the day. I’m so glad as I hate seeing my baby poorly. And we have a Mummy & baby date tomorrow so don’t want to spread germs!
