Kate On Thin Ice has posted a blog prompt about highs and lows of this year, I’m taking part as I thought it would be a good way to sum up my year.

1. What was your happiest event?

Well of course it has to be the birth of our little man, who we spent what felt like a lifetime waiting to meet!

2. What was the saddest thing to happen?

Our miscarriage. It totally knocked me for six and aside from LTTTC, it was probably the worst/saddest experience of my life, yet alone year.

3. What was the most unlikely thing to happen that you actually went ahead and did?

Apart from having a baby, this year hasn’t been that eventful so I can’t really answer this… I need to be more adventurous I think!

4. Who let you down?

Nobody really. Except myself. And I think we can probably gather why I think that is.

5. Who supported you?

My hubby. He’s been there through everything this year – , my Nan’s death/funeral, giving birth, PND/anxiety, the miscarriage. I really don’t think I could have done it without him, I would have hit lower than I already was/am. My counsellor. He helped me see some things in a different light, some of which I still tell myself today, to help me get through. Some of my virtual friends, and especially one of my bestie blogging friends (she knows who she is!), when I started miscarrying and supported me throughout that horrid weekend, and afterwards. And one of my best friends in ‘real’ life.

6. Tell us one thing you learned

That there isn’t a ‘right’ way to parent, everybody is different and we shouldn’t judge that, no matter the subject!

7. Tell us one thing that made you laugh

Watching little man humping everything as he was learning to crawl!

8. Tell us one thing that made you cry

Miscarrying little angel bean. It still does.

9. Tell us three things your child or children did to make you feel proud.

Learning to sit unaided.

Learning to crawl.

Learning to clap by himself!

10. Tell us one thing that made you proud of yourself

Getting through labour & birth with just gas & air! I thought I would be having everything going!

11. Tell us one challenge you overcame

Battling through PND & anxiety. Still not totally there yet, but who knows when?

12. Tell us three things you would like to change about your life in 2013.

I want to go back to studying. I feel like a failure for only getting as far as I did at Uni, and I want to change that as I don’t want to be stuck in the same old circle forever.

I want to learn to drive! I think it would help so much with little man & I getting out & about and give us a more exciting day to day life!

I want to get to my weight loss goal. I had planned on doing that by the end of this year but with one thing after another I haven’t got there. I am determined next year as I’m not comfortable in my own skin right now.

I tag Not Even A Bag Of Sugar and Pow! Supermum! to take part. But you can also take part if you haven’t been tagged!
