Three famous landmarks I’d love to visit | Bucket list

Famous landmarks bucket list, map, globe

The Husband & I spend many an hour daydreaming about all of the places we would love to visit when the boys have upped and left home, and we have a bit more money. It would be amazing to travel the world, and see in real life all of the places we’ve seen on television, in movies, and in pictures.

The furthest we’ve ever travelled is Europe (by plane and boat), so to fly long haul would be an adventure for a start! Although we spend these hours daydreaming, it would be so hard to choose where to go first. For this bucket list post, I’ve whittled it down to three.

Cookhouse and Pub, Rhyl | Review

Photo by Rachel at Coffee, Cake, Kids

During the last couple of years we’ve taken our annual holiday during the summer, but this year we decided to go away over the Easter break. Whilst we usually make a trip to Norfolk, this year we made the decision to visit North Wales instead. With yet another change for our holiday, we often stay in a private cottage but this year we opted for a caravan and spent a week at Presthaven; just a few miles away from the seaside town of Rhyl. Rhyl seafront is currently undergoing a large regeneration project, and one of the recently opened businesses is the Cookhouse and Pub.

We believe bringing good things together makes them even better, from fish and chips or brownies and ice cream to a cheeky gin and tonic.

Along with freshly prepared dishes and delicious drinks, we offer a friendly service and great value.

Cookhouse & Pub, a great place to get together. Read more

Reliving my childhood holiday memories

Tenerife holiday memories

I’ve been abroad a few times – mainly travelling by boat or road – but I’ve only ever been on an aeroplane once. I remember the exact date I went because it was the date of an event that happened in September when I was a teenager, in 2001. But let’s not be somber here; it was one of my favourite holidays that I can really remember, and the destination was Tenerife. Ever since, I’ve always wanted to go back.

I’ve written previously about how I would love to take the boys on overseas adventures at some point in the future; I know Jacob especially would love to go on an aeroplane. We live right under a flight path so we’re always having discussions about where the people are flying to on holiday – usually, according to J, it’s England! 😀  Read more

Around the world in 2018 | a luxury travel bucket list

Destination2 travel bucket list

Though the title says, as much as I would love to travel around the world in 2018, it most definitely is not going to happen. In fact, we haven’t even travelled out of the UK for almost ten years. So the boys have never been abroad, but I would love to broaden their travel horizons and give them some amazing experiences. Even myself, I’ve only been as far as the Canary Islands, and that’s when I was a teenager. So yeah, quite a while ago…

The lovely people over at Destination2 have asked me to put together a travel bucket list for 2018; though this is likely to blend into many many years. As much as I love taking the boys on holiday, when they’re all grown up and left home, we will be back to grown up trips away – the relaxing type 😉 It wasn’t hard for me to come up with a bucket list, as I am constantly adding to places I would love to visit, in my head!
