I’ve mentioned previously how The Husband & I would love to travel the world when the boys have grown up and entered the big wide world on their own. One country we are always talking about that we would love to visit is Italy. Mainly because – we had planned a trip to Lake Garda for our honeymoon, but unfortunately that fell through. We’re determined to visit Italy one day, though!
I love discovering the hidden gems in new countries, but I like to do the traditional touristy things too. The main cities I’d love to visit are Rome and Venice; I always think of Venice as the Italian city of love! Maybe we could head there for our next big wedding anniversary… Possibly leaving the laptop open on the Destination 2 website would drop a massive hint… 😉
Most of the rooms in our house could do with a makeover; but the latest one we are slowly, but surely updating is the dining room. As a family, and individuals we spend quite a lot of time in the dining room; meal times, homework, crafts, cuppa time, and I sometimes work in there. It’s attached to our kitchen too and one of the first rooms to be seen when entering the house; so it’s quite a prominent room for first impressions!
At the moment we have the wallpaper on one wall, that my in-laws put up goodness knows how many years ago; but I remember it from when I first started dating The Husband, so it’s at least 12 years old! It’s not to
my our taste at all. We gave the other walls a lick of paint when we moved in (they were also an awful green colour); but we had the ceiling re-plastered last year and have been meaning to to update the “feature wall” ever since. But as usual, we take a long time to get around to it… Read more
Regular readers of mine will probably know that we moved to our forever home, coming up to three years ago now. My in-laws had done a great job of getting it to where it was when we moved in, but there were some rooms which really needed updating. We redecorated all of the bedrooms, the living room, and the kitchen; but one room we haven’t really touched on is the bathroom. Don’t get me wrong, my in-laws had it updated around 10 years ago (thank goodness – it was an awful avocado green colour before that!) but I would love to remodel it ourselves one day. But, that will probably be quite a
few lot of years down the line.
I’m a bit of a daydreamer though and I do have a few wishful makeover posts already on the blog; my visions of a loft library, an office wish list, and an outdoorsy one with a patio makeover. So of course, I have to share my bathroom dreams with you. The main theme of my bathroom would be light & airy, to be both relaxing & comforting. In an ideal world with unlimited funds, we’d probably have to build a separate one for the kids, so they don’t spoil ours! Read more

Though the title says, as much as I would love to travel around the world in 2018, it most definitely is not going to happen. In fact, we haven’t even travelled out of the UK for almost ten years. So the boys have never been abroad, but I would love to broaden their travel horizons and give them some amazing experiences. Even myself, I’ve only been as far as the Canary Islands, and that’s when I was a teenager. So yeah, quite a while ago…
The lovely people over at Destination2 have asked me to put together a travel bucket list for 2018; though this is likely to blend into many many years. As much as I love taking the boys on holiday, when they’re all grown up and left home, we will be back to grown up trips away – the relaxing type 😉 It wasn’t hard for me to come up with a bucket list, as I am constantly adding to places I would love to visit, in my head! April is here, spring is upon us, which means lots of long days spent in the garden are ahead. With Jacob being at school now, and Noah now going to nursery for three mornings a week, I will also have the garden all to myself for a few hours a week – heaven! Well, I will be sharing it with a dog now, also…
We moved into this house one and a half years ago, and have done quite a bit of work on the garden already; but, we still don’t have it near where we want it. I know we will get there eventually though, and I hope we can put some work into it this summer, so it is all ready for us to enjoy completely next year! Read more
