3 Companies You Can Use To Sell Your House on Your Own

Gone are the days when paying 6% to 7% of the price you got for selling your house just had to be given to a real estate agent as an obligation. This was due to one simple reason: because they helped you sell your house! The good news, however, is that this isn’t a necessity anymore and if you’re in talks of selling your house, it should please you to know that doing so is highly possible without the assistance of a real estate agent – not to mention, you keep the 7% they would take otherwise! PicStick photo magnets | Review

Regular readers of the blog will have figured out that I like photos up around my home, and my friends and Instagram followers will know that I take a lot of photos too. As we’re a bit pushed for wall space living in a small flat, I like to find other ways of displaying my photos – for example a collage in one frame – but with photo magnets you can utilise the fridge and admire your family every time you go there too! (Not that I will use that as an excuse to eat more… *chuckle*). PicStick have brought this idea to life and I had the chance to review some photo magnets from there.

It’s really easy to create your photo magnets. Once you have created an account you can get get straight to uploading your photos for your magnets. PicStick allows you to upload from your computer or connect straight to Facebook or Dropbox and simply choose from there. For each photo you choose, you can crop and rotate them to fit the magnet – there are guidelines to help you get the best fit. Once you’ve taken forever to choose your photos (if you have as many as me) and create your magnet sheet, you simply add to your basket and create another one, or check out which is easy to do via card or PayPal.

Considering delivery is free, my magnets were extremely quick to arrive as PicStick aim to print and post them within one working day of your order being placed. My magnets arrived in a hard envelope which is always good with products like this to avoid them getting damaged. The photo magnets come in a sheet of nine, ready for you to take apart and stick on your fridge. In fact, as they are magnetic they will stick to any metallic surface and not just your fridge. The magnets are really easy to take apart; you just need to fold them over slightly and they will tear apart with ease, also leaving a smooth edge. The magnets are also thick so quite durable to toddlers who can reach them…

The photo quality itself wasn’t as good as I was expecting it to be, but my photos weren’t top quality to start with as they were just taken on my smart phone. I thought they looked a little grainy. Nevertheless, they are good enough to be displayed on the fridge and unless you really inspected them then you wouldn’t really notice. The magnets work out at just over £1 each so I’m not sure I would buy them for myself but I would definitely consider buying them as a gift as I love seeing them on my fridge every time I go into the kitchen.

A sheet of nine photo magnets from PicStick is £9.50, with free delivery all over the world! My readers can also get 25% off by using the discount code EASY25.

Chatterbox Walls personalised print | Review

I have mentioned before how I love personalised items, especially those to brighten up my home, so when the guys at Chatterbox Walls offered me one of their prints to review I gladly accepted.

The selection and ordering process is so easy. The website is simple & well laid out so you can easily look through all of the available categories & prints, with the most popular displayed on the home page.

After looking through literally all of the prints as I just couldn’t decide, I finally settled on the ‘Our Song‘ print. It’s a simple print, with a record and your song name printed on it, with your names at the bottom. As we had our first dance at our wedding to Rule The World by Take That, I obviously chose this one as it holds special memories.

On this print there are four options for you to personalise with your details – artist, song, name 1, and name 2. You can also choose from 23 colours; I chose the red with white text as my hallway feature colour is red.

There are then 4 sizes to choose from – small, medium, large or extra large (and they also do a canvas version). I chose the small (A4) size as it would sit lovely alongside the other prints in my hallway of the same size. Once you have decided on all of your options, you can add your print to the basket and choose another, or continue to the checkout. On the next screen is the basket – before continuing to checkout you get a handy little pop-up which asks if you would like your print framed (this costs £16.99). The checkout process is easy – you need to input all of your usual details (name, address, email address) and then checkout via PayPal. You don’t even need to have a PayPal account as you can use a debit or credit card to pay through the service.

My print arrived very quickly and I was eager to see it in the flesh. It arrived in a hardback envelope to protect against being bent or damaged, which is something I always expect when receiving an item such as this. The first thing I noticed was how bright the colour was, and how glossy the card was. Added together, the print looks fantastic. The quality is so fine and it looks exactly as it did on my screen. It is also printed on thick card which is a bonus as you don’t really want thin card, though I suppose it wouldn’t matter so much if you were to frame it like I did myself.

I framed my print in a standard white wooden frame to match the others on my wall, and decided to put it on the wall between a couple of our wedding photos. I really love my new addition to my ‘hall gallery’.

All prints start at £14.99 for the small size. I’m not sure if I would pay this as the company where I have previously bought my prints from are a little cheaper; but only because of this reason. The quality, personalisation, ease of purchase, and delivery speed all make it worth the price if you see something you really like, especially as delivery is free too (though you can upgrade to premium delivery for £6.95).

ElevEase Shower Step | Review

During my pregnancy with N, I suffered with backache right from the beginning and it was pretty awful towards the end. This made “grooming” my legs a real problem – it hurt so much to bend over to reach so I went for the gorilla look mostly (I even tweeted about it under #pregnancyproblems) – it’s a good job I was heavily pregnant through the winter so as not to scare everyone!

Having PCOS means when I defuzz, my hair grows back really quickly and if I want to wear a dress or shorts in the summer months then I have to do it every day. Ever since N arrived, I’ve suffered with backache more than I did before; it’s never really gone away. When I was asked if I wished to review the ElevEase shower step I thought it would be good to see if it helped the problem.

The ElevEase shower step aims to help people who have back problems do everyday beauty regimes with ease and reduce the pain whilst doing these tasks. So it needn’t just be used for shaving legs – it can also be used for exfoliating, tanning, toenail painting, and moisturising (among others). It is simply as it says – a step, which is fixed to the corner of your shower/bath with the special strong adhesive which is included with ElevEase.

To affix ElevEase to your shower requires 3 simple steps:

  • ensure the shower surface is clean & dry and apply the supplied adhesive to the back of the step
  • fix the step to the corner of the shower at the knee height of user and hold tight for 3 minutes
  • leave to bond for 24 hours without using the shower.

The shower step has a slanted surface on which you rest your foot, and also a handy holder for your razor. I chose the white step to review but it can also be purchased in chrome. It is made of very strong plastic – obviously it needs to be to hold the weight of your leg. There are guidelines on the back of the step that show you where to apply the adhesive – which has a strong, pungent smell by the way! But I suppose this is from the ingredients required to make it so strong.
Once it was affixed to the wall I admit I didn’t wait the 24 hours recommended for it to bond. I had to go out the next day and I needed a shower so I risked it. Admittedly I was a little sceptical that it would hold my weight, but it did even after less than the 24 hours. And it is still stuck to the wall and doesn’t look like it’ll be going anywhere!
When defuzzing the calf area of my legs I did find I didn’t need to bend as far, but I still did a little to do right at the bottom – though this may be because I am as blind as a bat without my glasses on and I needed to see properly! It didn’t cause me any back pain though. When defuzzing the tops of my legs, I found it was actually a bit of a struggle to do with my foot on the step – I found it much easier to just do it normally as I don’t really bend over whilst doing that bit anyway.
Overall, I think the ElevEase Shower Step is a great product for those that do more than one of the regimes mentioned above and suffer with moderate to severe pain regularly. For its cost, I think it is worth the investment if you will use it often.
The ElevEase Shower Step retails at £15.97 and can be purchased from Amazon.

CanvasDesign.co.uk | Review

In our little family I absolutely love taking pictures, even though hubby is usually either pulling a silly face or I can’t get a decent one of little man as he’s always on the move! I have so many photos stored on my laptop but hardly any on display as I just never get around to getting them printed, so when I was given the opportunity to review a canvas from CanvasDesign.co.uk I was delighted as I also love canvas prints. It took me forever to choose a photo but in the end I chose this one of little man which I took on our first family holiday to Scotland when he was 6.5 months old:

I didn’t specify a size I wanted so I was shocked when this huge parcel arrived, very quickly too. It was very well packaged with a thick cardboard layer covered in ‘fragile’ tape, followed by another, and then wrapped in bubble wrap, meaning it also arrived in perfect condition. (The packaging has been partly removed here as I was too excited to get it open before taking photos!).

The size of canvas we received was 30×20 inches so as you can imagine we had to find a fairly big clear space to put it. We decided on pride of place above our dining table – also meaning little man can stare at himself whilst eating!

For this size canvas in a landscape format, the cost is £29.99 which I would be quite happy to pay as the quality is also amazing – in this photo little man had a bit of a dry snotty nose and I can even see that from the other side of the room!
