It has always been on my bucket list to travel to India. I’ve mentioned in previous travel posts how I love to look at the architecture of different countries and discover their history; finding out about the culture too. The main reason for visiting though, is to try authentic Indian food, right in the place where it originated from. Indian cuisine is one of my favourites and we eat an Indian dish at least once a week. Read more
I’ve mentioned previously how The Husband & I would love to travel the world when the boys have grown up and entered the big wide world on their own. One country we are always talking about that we would love to visit is Italy. Mainly because – we had planned a trip to Lake Garda for our honeymoon, but unfortunately that fell through. We’re determined to visit Italy one day, though!
I love discovering the hidden gems in new countries, but I like to do the traditional touristy things too. The main cities I’d love to visit are Rome and Venice; I always think of Venice as the Italian city of love! Maybe we could head there for our next big wedding anniversary… Possibly leaving the laptop open on the Destination 2 website would drop a massive hint… 😉
You may have seen the cheesy meme going around recently; you know the one, where we only get 18 precious summers with our children so we must make the most of them. That’s all well and good, and to an extent I agree. But sometimes, just sometimes; we may have had enough, want a break, want to pull our hair out; just want them back at school! And that’s fine, too.
I’m not going to lie, I really struggled with them last summer. We were going through a really difficult time with Jacob and his behavioural issues, which made it hard for me mentally, wanting to take them both out on my own all of the time. Other than going away during the last week of summer, I’m going to admit that we probably had quite a boring six weeks. That’s why this year, we’ve made a bucket list! Read more
Though the title says, as much as I would love to travel around the world in 2018, it most definitely is not going to happen. In fact, we haven’t even travelled out of the UK for almost ten years. So the boys have never been abroad, but I would love to broaden their travel horizons and give them some amazing experiences. Even myself, I’ve only been as far as the Canary Islands, and that’s when I was a teenager. So yeah, quite a while ago…
The lovely people over at Destination2 have asked me to put together a travel bucket list for 2018; though this is likely to blend into many many years. As much as I love taking the boys on holiday, when they’re all grown up and left home, we will be back to grown up trips away – the relaxing type 😉 It wasn’t hard for me to come up with a bucket list, as I am constantly adding to places I would love to visit, in my head! When it comes to the summer season, there are so many festivals happening. Music festivals, food festivals, art festivals; or festivals that have everything going on! Often these are really family or children focused and can last for a whole weekend.
As a family we’ve only actually attended one festival, which was a local food festival at a country park. A food festival is my idea of heaven, especially when there are dozens of samples waiting to be tasted! As you may have seen, I love discovering new brands and trying new foods. I could manage to spend a whole load of money on produce too, to feast on at home. Read more
